[Edit] Here’s a link to the dedication site of Charlene Sun.

Artist, musician, athlete and cinematographer, Charlene Sun parted from this world on January 27th, 2009, but left a legacy of beauty and art that will continue to inspire and touch lives for years to come.

I really didn’t know her, However, after hearing who she was and seeing how talented she was, I wanted to share her work with you guys.

Goodbye New York City

Nerd time! I just watched the latest episode of BSG! Whoa!! Things happen! Everything is bananas! What was the chief looking at at the end?!

Discussion in the comments, I hope! And as with the last BSG post, EXPECT spoilers!

Sorry for the quiet – I was actually away on business to NYC starting on Tuesday. I stayed through the weekend to check out NYCC – it was a great time. Thanks to everyone who stopped us and said hey! There were quite a few of you, I was surprised.

I want to give a shout-out to Penny Arcade and Scott Kurtz. I went to NYCC just to attend. After doing so many anime conventions over the years, it was kind of hard not having a table and just walk around. I wasn’t use to it. Luckily, Tycho and Gabe allowed me to hang out behind their booth. Scott was also sharing a booth with them, so I got the chance to chat with him as well. I hope I wasn’t in their way.

Sigh.

Ok. So I went to New York Comic Con over the weekend. I had a great time, met with old friends and made some new ones. I was also carrying a stack of stock paper and having artists sketch on them. Throughout the weekend, I was very careful about keeping it close to me. I wanted to put them all together and post it as Monday comic and write a comment for each one.

As you can see there is no big comic. Why? Because my dumbass left the pile of paper on a table while I was packing up to leave. You have no idea how annoyed I am right now. I didn’t realize I left it all back in New York until I started to unpack when I got home.

However, I was able to come back with one art that wasn’t in the pile. I met Karl Kerschl, the creator of The Abominable Charles Christopher. A very cool, down-to-earth, talented artist that I have been following ever since I found his work online. I had a 8×10 canvas board with (don’t why I was carrying a canvas around me, I don’t know either), so I asked him if he could sketch something for me. With a pen and brush pen, he created this:

I can tell you right now, watching him draw and ink has inspired me to push myself even further. The way he draws animals without any references and the use of negative space blows my mind.

Again, I wanted to post something for Monday comic, but I lost what I wanted to put up. Sorry.
