I have wanted to do this for some time. I would start on it, but never finish it. It would sit on my computer, waiting to be open again. When I do open it, I find myself starting over again from scratch. So finally, I said no more, this has to be done now. I handed the idea to my bosses at work and it got done. Today I received the very first copy of Hawk: Sketchbook #1. Here is the first look of the book.

Huge thanks to Arijit and Cita for helping me put the book together. The book will be available at ConnecticCon and Otakon under HawkStudios.

You are frighteningly awesome, y’know that? Exactly why aren’t drawing for Marvel or DC? Seriously, man, you’ve got the skill to be one of those legendary artists like Jim Lee.

Not speaking for Hawk, but he’s mentioned in the past I think that working for one of the big publishers really isn’t all one would hope it would be. I’ve also seen this in my travels in reading comments from other artists, as well as speaking to them in person. He can be every bit as successful, if not more so (if that’s what he wants that is), doing things on his own.

Hawk, its good that you trusted your colleagues to get this done for you. Most artists tend to keep such a tight grip on their work and squander the opportunity to get it complete because of fears that it wont turn out the way they want.

You have the connections to make things happen - so use it to your advantage. Your talent needs to be experienced with as many eyes as possible.

okay, i’m really really curious…i know this has nothing to do with your rant, but i thought it might be included since it your stentchbook…but the creator of MegaTokyo mention in his rant that he sended a copy of Piro as Joker to you and didn’t post it due to horror image not suited for minors…mind sharing it?

Would it be possible to have it purchaseable in a downloadable form? I understand the inherent risk of reproduction, pirating, etc, so i understand if no DL, but would love a digital set of images for my screensaver.
