It sure is. Actually, it’s THE week … the week that Hawk and I, and Yuko, and Fil, and Archer, and everyone else I know has been waiting for. The new Batman movie is coming out, and everyone is abuzz. Fil has had an interesting approach. Convinced (and understandably so) that hype media ruins films, he’s been making a point of leaving the room if a commercial for The Dark Knight appears on TV. If he sees mention it of a website, he closes the window. If a preview begins playing before a movie, he leaves the theater until it’s over. Boy is hardcore … I almost wish I’d thought of it, but I don’t think I could resist the siren call of trailers.

Last week and this week are chock full of prep work for Connecticon and Otakon! We’re trying to get some brand new merch out there for the last two conventions of the season - I’ll be giving you guys sneak peeks as we get closer to the shows! Here’s a look at our newest business cards - I sent off the order last week, so they ought to be arriving in the coming days:

I think they’re looking pretty sexy!

I’ve been re-reading Box Office Poison by Alex Robinson (the last time I read it was a couple of years ago). I’m about halfway through it, and damned if it doesn’t still make me intensely uncomfortable. D: I’m re-reading BOP because I recently read Tricked, one of his newer graphic novels, and I really liked it.

Conrad, John and Yuko are 95% set up at their new place, and it’s pretty nice! Yuko got some great corner shelves from IKEA, so now she has these towering shelves that form a corner of literary hotness. Comics, classical books, reference books, DS games, and so on … I’ll be honest, I’m a little jealous. I want awesome shelves. One day, Ananth … one day … I have a pretty good collection going, and seeing them on a shelf elicits a sort of pleasure that is too intangible to describe.

Are you going to carry a paint pen to write on the cards with? You know.. when you give them to a random girl at a bar in tokyo…

Overnightprints.com! Their name lies (unless you’re willing to shell out $80 shipping), but they make a good product!

Interesting. I also have an aversion to hype promos all over the place. By the way I love your business card! It looks great! ^__^

I did that with the Indy movie. It was awesome. I didn’t even know that CB was going to be in it!

It’s like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black.

We are here to make business cards metal. We will make everything metal. Blacker than the blackest black times infinity.

God I want to go to Connecticon bad this year. Oh well…

Ikea is freakin’ sexy in general. At least 60% of our apartment is made of sweet Swedish design.

Have you heard much about Alex Robinson’s new book (with one of my favorite titles) “Too Cool to be Forgotten”? I’m extremely excited for it…

Hey Mike! So I guess you’re not going to CC then? D:

Haha, I looove Ikea. Everything is so simple and understated and decently priced.

I haven’t heard anything about the new book, but now I’ll have to go look!

Naw I’m not - me and Shan (mah girl) are hitting up comicon, but we can’t afford a cross country flight. Maybe next year.

The only problem I have with Ikea is the “putting together” part - I feel like I’m in a three stooges film when I put together a couch.

And the new book sounds so good - I may have to pick it up next weekend… The plot reminds me of a movie - a guy relives his high school days in the eighties.

Definitely looking forward to The Dark Knight. Also, props to the business card! I’m a graphic design major, and I’m really digging the simple, yet classy approach. ^^

I love how simple the card is. Very nice.

For about 2 days, the first 6 minutes of Batman was on you tube. It’s not on there anymore. But what I saw was AWESOME! It just made me more excited then anything else has. I wont ruin it for you. XD Midnight showing, here I come!!

Why y’all didn’t add your email addresses to the card?

The thinking is that the only people picking up the cards are people who don’t know what AG is but are curious. People who already know the site can e-mail us right off the front page. Also, honestly? It’s an aesthetic thing.

Could you take pictures of these awesome shelves?

or point me in the direction of where there are some, if there are floating on the ‘net… I’m interested, for something that Ananth obsesses over so much, they have to be picture-worthy.

Loves to the Dark Knight, loves to the Business cards, and loves to IKEA. Truly they are all after my heart.
