The comic is finally up.
The last couple of days, I have been in pain. Some how I screwed up the back of my neck. I can’t turn my head or look up without hurting. So it has been hard for me to sit in front of the computer and work on the comic. It still hurts.
Anyways, the comic is finally up, hope you like it.

This is REALLY good. I thought it was part of the movie at first and you just drew Hawk and Eve in there.

You know, I got that neck thing just a couple weeks ago after a two hour sketch session. Must be going around.

ABOUT YOUR NECK::::::
hey man, I’ve been there before. It where you can’t turn your neck past a certain point, eh? You probly got it from sleeping at wrong angle or backlash or something. I couldn’t turn my neck for two weeks for it. Finally one day, I had it and just starting trying to ‘crack’ my neck. Finally, i did it. Cracked it and all’s well. Course, it hurt for a moment, but imagine the relief that came through…much better than orgasm, really.
Get that now and then myself, but rather than cracking it (which I have done… but it kind of creeps me out to hear my neck make those noises ;P ) I just gently stretch it out on a regular basis. Usually within a couple days it’s back to normal.

I usually refrain from using this phrase, mainly to save what little masculinity I have left, but that picture is fucking cute, moe, whatever ya wanna say. If there was a widescreen wallpaper size, definatly would use it(hint hint).

Another thing that can cause your neck to lock up like this is general back stuff — I was getting the same sort of thing happening every few months, so eventually I went to a sports massage place and they fixed me right up. Sports massage = they lean on you with their elbows, it’s there to fix you rather than make you smell of pretty oil or whatever..

Go get yourself a professional neck massage. Sounds like you tweaked some muscles. If you cannot afford a professional, put on a hot pad/pack and then go amateur, follow with some Tiger Balm. If using the hot pad/pack, lay down on it, on a bed or couch, without a pillow. You want your neck in a neutral position.

I’ve never heard of Tiger Balm, but I approve on general principles. I can’t NOT support something named Tiger Balm.
It’s like bengay or icyhot but better. I have super-sensitive skin and Tiger Balm won’t bother it. It gives a nice warmth, but doesn’t get too hot.
One more thing… if it hurts ONLY when you nod your head up and down, get to a doctor. That is a sign of meningitis.

great picture, very cute, I actually saw the movie a few days ago, very good, totally worth watching. Also the head pain your descibing, had it before also, couldn’t move my head in certain directions for a few days, it might help(helped me anyway): an electronic massager, or just a massage, helped me a lot, maybe it will help you.

That sucks to hear about your neck problems Hawk, I get them on occasion too. Normally resulting in a migraine, which as we all know is loads of fun.
Not sure if someone suggested it yet but maybe consider seeing a chiropractor? I know with the amount of computer work I do, my posture isn’t the greatest so going in for a ‘tune up’ once and a while does wonders I find.

You may have displaced a disk in your neck from leaning over the screen in the first place. I’m only 20 and it’s happened in my lower back from bad posture. You should see a chiropractor, or have a check up with a physical therapist, and see what one of them thinks.

I’ve had that neck problem before. As a teacher, I didn’t have time to wait for it to relax itself out. Two days out from work while taking some ib profin and muscle relaxant prescribed by the doctor fixed it quickly. Just to throw another suggestion out there. Downfall: you can’t drive anywhere while on muscle relaxants.
All I can manage is “Awwwwwww”. Well done. It’s super cute.

I had the same problem with my neck a few weeks ago. I ended up going to a chiropractor, found out I’d pinched a nerve in my neck. he popped it loose for me and gave me a prescription for that incredibly strong Tylenol (I highly recommend it). So go get it checked out, cuz it’ll get worse before it gets better.

Pick some Tiger Balm up from your local CVS (in the topical pain meds section). It’s what my Kung Fu instructor uses for messed up muscles, bruises, etc. It will help with the pain.
Awwwww, Hawk that’s adorable! I haven’t gotten a chance to see Wall-e yet as it’s not out in Ireland, but I can’t wait!! I’d love it as a wallpaper, but only *after* your neck’s better!!

i thouhgt you shoulda kept the comic closer to the sketch as far as size of the characters because honestly it took me a while ot notice hawk in the back. but i still love the idea either way =]

Hawk: If your neck problems are anything thing like mine, there’s a muscle relaxant called Skelaxin that will help immensely. It’s not habit forming and will get you back to normal in a day or two.
What is the image resolution for the colored one? Because it had to be pretty high to get all those details on Wall-E in. It’s a great picture. I still have yet to see Wall-E, but I’m looking forward to it.

Having Hawk in the background is perfect. You get the “Awwww” factor in by seeing Eve and Wall-E, and the “You know somehow he deserves it” factor by seeing Hawk waaaaay out in the back being chased by E.V.E..
The colouring is just beautiful.
Hope you are feeling better. It will sound strange, but if you have some dry rice, place it into a sock, and knot it. place in the microwave for a minute, and then place it around your neck. The rice distributes heat evenly and may ease the aches in your neck muscles.
The vertebrae go out of alignment in my neck all the time, and the chiropractor I used to go to had that as part of my regimen before I’d visit him, as it eased tension in the muscles before adjustment.
