You will definetely see me! Of course…I’ll be the one picking you up. And pretty much sitting almost next to you during the con. I’ll be like the parasite you can’t get rid of :(

They have cons in Canada? I thought it was populated entirely by moose and pines.

Not true.

There are also cows.

We also have squirrels. Hawk’s friend in AG would fit in well with the ones running around Vancouver (the one in BC, not Washington state).
I’ve even seen one do a backflip to get up onto the curb from the road!

DAMNIT!… I live in the Calgary area! I could come see you guys but I currently have no way of getting to Otafest. Damnit!…

To be perfectly honest, cons aren’t my thing. But still. I totally wanna come meet you guys. Maybe something will work out…

Take a bus to a c-train station, and head for the University station. It’ll take you more or less straight there…

Finally coming to Canadia? It’s about time, what took you so long!

It’s too bad I live way over in Ontario :(, you’ll just have to hit up a Toronto con, they have big’uns there.

Hah, I was informally at a small comic convention last year. If I can manage, I’ll be walking around next year as well!

So… Depressing… I didn’t even know Otafest was this weekend, then I find out you guys are gonna be there, and it’s the one weekend I decide to go camping!!! ARGH. I’m really tempted to ditch my plans just so I can meet you guys.

PS ~ Why the HECK did you choose Otafest? There’s better cons in Canada. >.>

…because we invited them? I resent that comment, btw. We put a lot of sweat and blood into this event…

Because Otafest needs love too. Ontario gets all the big names more often than not. Which is sad, because Otafest is great.

^_^ I’ve been going to Otafest for 9 years. It started off in two rooms staring at a couple 20″ tv’s.

There’s no better con in Canada! Glad you guys are coming out!

I will withhold my judgement on the “best con in canada”, but I have to say I like the smaller cons then the larger ones. Ai Kon in winnipeg was great until they moved it into the Convention Center (And use the entire floor!), then it just got crazy. Nishekaze in Lethbridge was alot of fun as well.

The sure the smaller cons don’t get the big name guests, but they have their own charm, and some of the stuff that turns up at vender booths at the smaller ones are pretty sweet, I got myself the entire EVA series on VHS (original dub, not the remastered version), which is pretty sweet if your a collector.

I used to go to Otafest all the time, don’t get me wrong. I used to enjoy it, too. Then some politics came up, and it wasn’t as fun. It’s great they’re growing, I started going about.. 7 years ago. I’m just surprised that Applegeeks is going to Otafest, of all cons, in Canada.

Wow that’s kinda rude, doncha think? Why shouldn’t they come to Otafest, eh? you want to tell me that because other con’s meet at big convention centers and are run on a higher budget by a non-student organization that they are somehow better? Kiss my Otafest-attending ass. We’re just as worthwhile as an A-Thon or a Sakura Con or Anime North or any other nerd fest.

To answer your question, they were gracious enough to invite us and Rose is a buddy of ours.

The idea that a con is better because it’s bigger is silly. Big and small cons serve 2 different kinds of functions, and many people prefer small cons.

You guys should really come to the Maritimes (Eastern Coast of Canada). We don’t get anything cool out here, and deserve some awesome people for once in our life xD
Next March, there’ll be a con called Animaritimes, probably in New Brunswick, I suggest going… <_<’ It’ll be good.

Agreed, the Maritimes get left out a lot. We only had our first con (at least that I heard about) here in Newfoundland this year. Maybe I’ll have to take a road trip up to New Brunswick next year for Animaritimes.

Yeah, I went last year as Kakashi. It was a blast xD
I’m going as L next year.

Hawk, Ananth, you could easily sell your comics and drawings here. People love this kind of comic around here (my friend got me hooked on Megatokyo, then I followed it onto here xD)

Blast! So close and yet so far (insert cursing about UofA/UofC rivalry), I may be enlisting friends to snag me some gear.

Props to you guys for showing up though, Canadian ‘cons need love too and most of the time western provinces tend to get overlooked.

Missed your panels but it was awesome seeing you guys chill in artist alley, was the Kyouya cosplayer otherwise known as the asian guy in a blue suit, and like I said your comics are fairly kickass.

On a random note, did you guys know a Saleem D.? I can’t remember his last name for the life of me but he used to live in Kuwait, and he’s the one who directed me to Applegeeks saying either his friend, or his friend of a friend was involved in it.

Thanks for visiting the maid cafe, and best of luck in your future albeit comical endeavors.
