ok, here goes, stemmed from years of reading comics, both DC and Marvel…and i want to know what is it with DC premiere superheroes (batman, superman, wonderwoman) that compels them to wear their underpants outside their outfits?

i watched ironman this weekend, and credit to marvel, there wasn’t any underwear in sight - imagine ironman wearing red shorts over his suit.

obviously the guys who made the batman movies had issues with the underpants too - as they redesigned the batman outfit sans underpants.

thanks for listening :o)

oh, and yes, i’m fairly sure i saw an avengers movie as a natural progression - especially with the after credits clip ;o)

Generally the artistic differences are due to the fact that Superman was designed, what, 20+ years before Spiderman, Ironman etc?

Simpler times, different characters, different artistic directions, and changing the classic costumes of iconic characters rarely works (Batman is an exception as a hero who has successfully undergone costume re-design).

Superman gets external underwear, just like Spiderman gets continuous emo angst and clone sagas.

Don’t forget about the Nick Fury movie in 2010. Not to mention several other Marvel movies rumored to be coming out in the next two years, including the Sub-Mariner.

Oh so NOW they get around to making a new decent version of Captain America 4 years after his official death in comic books.

There is also an Ant Man one in the works, though I didn’t really get into Ant Man until he became Giant Man. Seriously. “I’m going to save the world by talking to BUGS and Shrinking!” Just doesn’t sound all that heroic.

Who didn’t see this coming with the whole ending credits thing and the talk of other stand-alone/tie -in films to be made by marvel? In any rate, the Ant-Man flm is supposed to be directed by the guy who did Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Don’t forget, Tony Stark is supposed to make a cameo in the Hulk Movie, maybe Hulk will be with the Avengers?

I’m not sure if these are the real pictures but I think I may have come across some Spider-man 4 movie pictures.

Hey if the movies are half as good as Ironman then they’ll be worth a look. Plus theres always the chance that they’ll be AS good. Either way it’s good for anyone who ever enjoyed the Marvel Universe.
BTW I would have to KILL the guy who made my uniform if there was Freaking UNDERWEAR on the outside!!

Out of Point:
So, Ananth will be wearing an Iron Man costume from now on? Apart from the trademark hat of course. Well, at least he’ll stop hiding behind the panels now.

Back to subject:
Haven’t seen Iron Man, I’ve got my A-Levels to pass through right this week and the next. Most probably I’m going to miss Incredible Hulk too. Stupid exams. Best of fun to those who can and will see them.
I just I’ll not miss Dark Knight.:<

Sorry for the miss. Oh, and Ananth looks even cooler now, hat and all. THE HAT WASN’T ENOUGH 8D

Yeah, it’s definitely a good time to be alive and a Marvel fan. Hopefully beginning with Iron Man, we can finally say goodbye to crappy superhero movies and finally start seeing some tie-ins and connected storylines, without the emo side-story.

Ah. Emo side stories. It’s what superheros are based on.

As intrigued as I am, the only thing I got from that list is that the year 2009 is going to suck as far as movies go with regards to the superhero genre. *sulk*

Actually, the Watcmen, and the Spirit come out in 2009, so there’s at least something for the genre.

That is one kick ass line up, Iron Man rocked and I can’t wait to see this all roll together, but, shouldn’t there be a Wasp movie?

What I want to know is the budget for The Avengers. To keep the original roster, they’d need to cast Robert Downey Jr, Edward Norton, and Samuel L Jackson, just to start! And whoever they’re casting as Thor. (I doubt they’d go for Ant Man.) And I wonder what they’ll fight, it’d have to be pretty epic.

I enjoy Marvel comics over DC anyday, but if they are do movies for each of the Avengers members, then there is going to be less of a chance that there be an Avengers movie. I hope there is still an Avengers movie. Plus wasn’t there a Hulk movie done already.

Comment by Hawk
2008-05-07 10:57:26

Why would there be a less of a chance there will be an Avengers movie? The individual movies introduces each of the characters that will lead into a bigger movie, which will be an avengers movie. Yes, there was a Hulk movie, but it didn’t do so well. Also the new Hulk movie is under Marvel Studios.

I still want there to be a Avengers movie, but the line of the members is the hard part. They probalbe cut out a some of the members, like Quick Silver, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. Think about the X-Men movie, Angle and Beast didn’t show up untill the thrid movie and they were part of the first team members in the comics.
