Well, it appears your sense of style has evolved with your age. I think mine has devolved in the years between when I was 16 and now. ^_^

I have yet to get there cuz i’m 6 years younger but then again i know i’ve already begun the transformation XD

But i think i’d substitute the camera bag with a Timbuk2 sling bag because thats usually the bag i put my camera in.

14, but I already have a 17″ timbuk2 for when my tablet becomes obsolete and I get a black (w00t) macbook. that is, if they still come in black in 2011.

You’re lucky, I’ve been teaching 4th graders who were taller than me(okay one, but still!), I think I might have grown 1 cm since I was 16(7 years ago)

“Porn Mustache”

True story about my dad and his “Porn” mustache: After dropping my mom somewhere and then parking the car, my dad was walking back to us when he passed by a group of 20 somethings who stopped, turned towards him and said “Hey, Are you Ron Jeremy?” My dad responded with “No, who’s that?” All the 20-somethings exclaimed at the same time “The PORN STAR!” and burst out laughing before then walking off.

That said, they were right.

Is the moral of the story that your dad got rid of the mustache?

A couple of other people already pointed it out, but you completely need to wait another 10 years. 35 year old Hawk will laugh at what 26 year old Hawk thinks is cool too. I’ll be waiting for that AG Lite where the time machine gets a re-use.

So the main difference between then and now is that back then you looked like a dork, and now you are shallow and obsessed with your appearance and material goods? Don’t know that I’d call that an improvement.

That’s the only reason I can think of that you’d actually be PROUD of owning $300 sunglasses, I think I’d be kind of embarrassed to own those.

Also, bonus points for owning electronics mainly because they are a brand you like instead of on their technical merits, but hey that’s what Applegeeks is all about. Don’t want to start a $#!+storm.

2008-05-05 11:22:23

Oops, did I say sunglasses? I misread I guess, so $300 glasses aren’t quite as bad, it’s kind of hard to avoid spending that much on them these days, honestly. I stand by the rest of what I said though.

yup you’re right. i’m shallow and i’m obsessed with my appearance. since you never met me, you know me so well. wait that makes us best buds! yup that make sense! have a nice day.

I went ahead and enrolled you in some classes for the sarcastically impaired.

Seriously, it’s obvious just by looking at the two images what the differences are, but you feel the need to point out all your shiny expensive toys and “Designer jeans” (lol’d), $300 glasses and moleskin book (wtf). What message are we supposed to come away with?

Yeah, I guess it’s an improvement physically, but it looks like you could use some improvement in some other areas if the changes you felt the most need to note are the ones involving how expensive your new stuff is.

And yes, I have met you, just so you know. You’ve been to enough cons not to remember half the people you run in to.

Dude! love the pic and sure miss those good ‘ol baggy pants + red t-shirt. Those were the only things keeping me from looking like the Pop crowd! (pastel pinks, greens and blues… agh!)… ten years fly by so quickly!

I love my beard, even if it feels like pubes. I like it because I’m 19, it looks nice, is fun too play with, and helps me not get carded when buying tabakky. Also, when I do shave it, I look 12. Which brings me to my point: women are pedophiles. They totally dig the 12 year old version over the 19. Creeeepy. Still love ‘em though! :D

Seems like a decent transition. I’m pretty much doing the same myself, now. To what Bob said, there is nothing wrong with worrying about appearance or staying true to a name brand, especially if said brand just does what you want it to do :)
