Mindstorm set? We had to use that for building our EG project. Ours was terrible, but our presentation skills made up for it!

Why do Americans always put the letter S at the end of words that don’t have it, even the LEGO company made a statement saying how much it annoys them seeing millions of people name there product wrong. :<

I still remember the message they used to put on the back pages of some of there catalogues saying how calling LEGO legos is a an insult to there company’s products and trademarks. :S

Because “s” means something is plural. He didn’t build it using just one LEGO. He used several LEGOs. And I’m sure LEGO is VERY annoyed at all the money they’re making off of people who say “LEGOs”, so I’m sure they’ll survive, SOMEHOW. Poor things. :P

‘Because “s” means something is plural’

sheeps? salmons? There are quite a few words where the singular is the same as the plural but LEGO is actually slightly different again.

Technically what Hawk has used to build his… er… whatever that is… are called ‘LEGO components’ since LEGO is the brand name and not the name of the components themselves.

So, LEGO components, LEGO blocks, LEGO bits, LEGO pieces… but never LEGOs

I’m not normally one to pick up on grammar and spelling mistakes but ‘LEGOs’ really bugs me too.

Fortunately the world doesn’t revolve ENTIRELY around what bugs people.

It’s amazing that you can make such an issue of an ‘S’ at the end of LEGO whilst repeatedly misusing “there” instead of “their”.

There = the cookie is on that table over there.

Their = tell LEGO the pedant is stealing their cookies on that table over there!

Apologies if you’re ESL, it can be confusing.

I left all my LEGO back in the UK when I moved to LA.. I look forward to having children and buying “them” LEGO. ¬_¬

Whatever it is, it looks cool and it makes be feel nostalgic of all the things I built with Legos like the Enterprise and a fairly large city with the help of my bro. Oh and the pains of stepping on one when you don’t know it. >o

Just to supplement with some totally useless info:

LEGO is made from the 2 danish words “LEG” (Play) and “GODT” (well or good).

Being from Denmark LEGO kinda made up 70% of my toys as a child

It’s not just because you are from Denmark.. it pretty much made up 70% of everyones toys around here as a kid.

Ahh… LEGO. Who doesn’t like LEGO? And the sets nowadays have quite a bit of versatility. I just wish they had a few more ‘traditional’ bricks in ‘em. I suppose if I want those, I’ll have to get one of those bulk containers.

I’d get Mindstorms, but I doubt I could justify spending the cash for it yet. …just like I can’t justify a Wacom Cintiq to myself.

It was amazing.
Those things are incredibly awesome.
