I was trying a different style for the next comic. As I was working on it, I realized I wasn’t really happy with it. So I’m basically going to redo it.

Actually that looks pretty sweet, why not do both things so we can tell you which one we like more?

That’s exactly what I thought when I looked at it too. But nonetheless, I think you did a very good job. But what was it that you didn’t like about the drawing? Other people who’ve commented seem to like it so far despite the different style.
That looks like it’s done in Photoshop :)! I honestly like the style. I agree though, the work probably is longer to coloring or illustrate; whichever is ur favored strength.
Well, I think it’s great. I love the softer colors.. Makes the art easier on the eyes. Mind you, I’m not saying that the current style is bad, just that I find this style more.. Soothing, I guess. :P
Anyway, should be interesting to see what you choose.
I love that style. Reminds me of what you used in the comics when you were just starting to introduce Alice. Smooth, and very shiny.

It does look a tad percular for your normal art, but it doesn’t hurt to try something new. Not saying there is anything wrong with it. I’m so used to solid black lines. XD

I actually think that looks REALLY REALLY good! Almost, I think, more than the style of the current comic. As someone said before me, it has a Calvin & Hobbes look to it, and those were my favorite comics of all time
For the most part it looks good, but I think the dimensionality is lacking on Alice’s jacket. It’ll be cool to see how you implement this in the end.

definitely think i’m liking this one a bit more. It’s a bit more blended and softer I think? But to each their own I guess really.

love tjhe glowing and the color concepts. the face is a little odd, but otherwise this is amazing.
I didn’t even notice the glowing effect, i’m so dense :P

Well, even if its off it’s a strong new direction, an illustrator’s style. You ought to make some art in this vein. It looks good.

Bummer, I think it is an excellent attempt to diversify. The softer edges on the highlighting of Alice’s face, the more subtle gradient, and the warm/pastel colors work very nicely.

Hawk, the pic is good. I think the reason that you are not to happy with it, is because you have been doing it the other way for a long time.
Like many others, I like it.
But, you get the call, they’re your pencils (so to speak).
