What the hell man. It’s currently 69 degrees, 74 degrees later today….in Washington D.C… in FEBRUARY!?!
Mother nature is on crack.
Don’t get me wrong, the weather is nice! But where the hell is winter?!

Heh, thats messed up…its about 30 degrees right now, in Vegas…I think we need to switch =\
The weather over here in Oz is on crack as well. It’s meant to be summer, but we’re having big arse electrical storms and rain, followed by a day of sun, then some more electrical storms and rain…
Are you kidding me. right now mother nature can’t decide weather it’s spring or winter overhere. I got pwn’d by both seasons at the same time yesterday.
I wish it was that nice here :( Supposed to be -12 this weekend and snowy all week.
hey we could switch places for the week i love snow
well, theres definitely a bit of winter in wisconsin - lots of it. its been snowing like mad buggery since yesterday afternoon…come to think of it its been snowing since sometime in november. it’s been as cold as -32c (with wind chill)
come get some :o)
Winter is in Nebraska right now. We had 4- and 8-car pileups yesterday on the roads in Lincoln yesterday due to snow.
Wow I’d like to have that weather right now. It’s currently 32 degrees here in Battle Creek, Michigan (Cereal City) with ice rain and snow. -_-” And just last week, it was in the 50’s. 0.o
Winter is in Canada. We had a freak Thunderstorm the other night where it rocketed up to 70 and today it’s dumping snow on Toronto once again. I know because I got to wait out in it for half an hour for a bus this morning.
Yeah, now we’ve got almost a foot of snow on the ground. This isn’t winter this is madness!
in case if you hadn’t noticed, ‘mother nature’ has been on crack for the past couple of years. However, despite the oddities, I for one refuse to complain about the possibility of a major severe thunderstorm later today. There’re even tornado warnings in the south for this system! ^_^
Amen.
Oklahoma is known for strong and “variable” weather, but this is ridiculous. Every day, for the last 2 weeks, we’ve had strong winds - 30-40 with gusts of up to 50 MPH. These winds switch from North to South to North - every day, it’s from a different direction.
Not only that, but it’s been very very dry - both in terms of lack of rain in 2008 and extremely low humidity. The temperatures have also been crazy. First it was in the 30s, then it warmed into the 50s. Then a cold front dropped us into the 20s. Last Thursday? 1″ of Snow here, and up to 7″ near the Kansas border - and a foot in MO/IL. Then we warmed up - it was 80 degrees on monday! Then a cold front came though, and we had a few thunderstorms, followed by 30 degrees on Tuesday.
The winds, lack of humidity, and often warm temperatures, combined with dead trees from the terrible ice storm last December and huge amounts of dry grass left from the cool, wet summer of 2007 means that the fire danger is ridiculously high - we’ve had wildfires everywhere. Oh, and the Cedar pollen is nuts.
So, I must agree with the “nature on crack” view, but hey - it could be worse… We were fortunate enough to be west of yesterday’s tornado outbreak. Sheesh, 70+ tornados, on Feb 5th? Potential EF-4 (or higher) damage? That’s very odd… I’m not going to complain about the cold or wind - at least I have a warm apartment to live in…
Colorado’s makin’ up for it too. 40 degree highs have been the norm these past few weeks…
Hehe, in Argentina is summer and I have an air conditioner. Yayyyyyyyy!
PS: Global warming anyone?
hello global warming any one?
I am in sweden, where it should be snowy right now, but we had only rain all winter.
NOT NORMAL
Lol oregon’s got record snowfall
the south coast of england never gets any snow. in fact i cant remember the last time that i saw the white stuff.
It snowed in Bournemouth in 1998 - I don’t think it snowed since then though.
here in chicago its snowing. I thought i was hit was a snowball, turned out thats how big the snowflakes are today. oh and the ice is a killer too
I’m in Minnesota, and once again… almost no snow =(
at least we got snow in December this year …
damn you global warming! GIVE ME BACK MY SKI SEASON!
Here in NY it was 2 degrees last week now its almost in the 50’s
Yeah… right across the river, here in NJ.
the beginning of the week was a bit rainy, but i haven’t used a “winter coat” in almost a week.
and even when i have used it, it’s only been sparingly
well i live in arizona, and today and yesterday we went from 40 to 64… you are getting better weather then we are D:
And the rain. It’s so weird to get rain, let alone for a decent portion of day. My friend was going to buy a rain jacket then decided not to, “it’s Arizona after all,” he says. Next day….
WINTER EXISTS IN MY COLD DARK HEART /emo
okaaay…
It’s 69 right now here too.. will get up to 82. You’re currently as hot as Florida.
You can have Utah’s weather too. I wouldn’t mind 70+
where is winter? why it’s in northern Alberta where it was -60 Celcius with the windchill last week. good times.
Hah, we stole your winter, with our snowstorms and Blizzards and freezing temperatures here in Scotland…
Seriously, you can take it back now, pretty please?
ha, i’ll trade! it’s freezing here in texas, of all places.
I love winter and I hate it when the warm sneaks in and ruins my winter. I mean, warm has over half of the year as it’s own already. Leave winter alone you bastard!
:3
It only snow once a year in Portland, OR, But it snow twice last week.
There’s like a blizzard going on right now in my area. -_- *Fistshake*
Hey, come on….I live in South Texas and we’re in the 40’s…>< Mother nature, you are cruel.
I’m in Austin right now and the weather is crazy, it looks like I don’t need a sweater then go outside and I’m cold. Stupid sun, why did you trick me?
What the hell is wrong with you Mother Nature? This isn’t Texas weather!
I’m in Austin too, I wonder if Mother Nature is having a flu :P
In Houston it’s pleasant with a slight wind chill.
…There is no winter in Houston, only an extended and off-season fall.
Toronto stole your weather, I know they say Canada always has snow but the last few years the Toronto area has been green through winter, but now we’re covered. We’re Canadian snow ninjas :P
Yeah its weird, it just makes me wonder what will happen this spring, and summer.
Hawk you should just be glad that its warm now, cause it won’t be for long. Here it has been pretty nice all the snow melted. Then (sound effect goes here) the temp dropped its cold as hell and flooded. Like i said just be happy.
Apparently, we got all of your winter in Northern Utah. We haven’t had this much snow in quite some time. Sorry for taking it all. If I could, I’d send some of it to you, but USPS probably wouldn’t like that.
I’m jealous… it’s 18 degrees in Fort Collins, CO.
86 degrees in Oklahoma, then it dropped to 26 degress inside of a few hours.
Gotta love OK, huh? Not many places you can have a 50-60 degree temperature drop in under 12 hours!
BTW: where was it 86? I don’t recall anyone in OK getting over 82 or so on Monday… although I could have missed seeing it on the weather map. We were ~80 in the OKC Metro.
it’s over here, in southern california. Bastard 53 Farenheit.
Be glad you’re in SoCal. I lived there til last June then my folks up and moved to OKC. If I had the money I would have stayed there. But instead I’m freezing in Oklahoma.
It’s snowing here in Burlington as well.
Yeah, that’s how it was here…about 60 degrees F; and then today, every school in the area was shut down due to snow && ice.
Send some heat our way; we just got a foot of really wet snow dumped on us overnight. Ah, Michigan…
Folks down here in Brazil are asking where the hell is summer… I mean, it hasn’t stopped raining since November. I’m supposed to be in a tropical country, for Chrissakes!
It snowing so hard here in Chicago right now I can’t see more than half a block.
well…we had snow two weeks ago…heavy ice last week…and now heavy rain…we had 70 degree weather two days ago, now were almost back down to freezing……………welcome to Indiana, population: Corn…
I’m in Louisville, KY Hawk and I’ve been wondering exactly that for days. We’re even getting tornadoes (about three in one hell of a night a week ago and possibly one or two last night). I think we seriously had about seven, maybe 11 at best, days with snow on the ground at all. I mean, WTF?!
Where’s winter? I’m at school in Rexburg, ID, and there’s about 6 feet of it in some places. They just barely plowed the complex’s parking lot this past weekend, but the snow’s up to my knees again already!
I’m reminded of Monty Python… “and then autumn gave winter and spring a miss and went straight into summer!”
We’re still in Autumn around here in The Netherlands… we had ’snow’ for like one day, for about half an hour, at most… and I’m supposed to be in the cold, snowy part, too!
Yeah, I know! It’s about 74 degrees here in Conway, SC. It’s great!
It’s supposed to get colder though…. T-T
let’s see In Texas it was 75 yesterday. Woke up this morning to 19. And it’s supposed to be back up to the 70s sometime around Saturday.
I Live in Memphis. Yesterday it was in the high 70s. Then a cold front moved in, and we got hit by rain, hail and a tornado. I spent an hour under an overpass waiting for the storm to die down before I could go home. We’re not even one week into February and we’re already getting screwed!
Hawk Hawk Hawk… I thought you knew already.
I killed mother nature last year.
DELAY MY FLIGHTS AGAIN! QUITE HARD TO DO WHEN YOU’RE DEAD, ISN’T IT?
(I was scheduled to fly a plane 8 times last year and each got cancelled :p)
Here in Hoosierland (Indiana) we’re at 40 degrees with a strong West wind (ca. 25-30 mph., with gusts to 40 mph.), and we’re supposed to get our *fourth* Arctic front of the season during the coming weekend. “Crazy” doesn’t *begin* to describe the weather we’ve had this winter…
Yeah, and here in Northern Indiana it rains and gets to 30-40 degrees, melts all the damned snow, then it snows and gets to 40 below with wind chill…is it any wonder my family has gone through three rounds of sick in HELL?
I want a constant winter so we all can go out and enjoy it, not go out to the damned doctors constantly…
I feel your frustrations dear.
Winter is stuck in the Midwest… which is bad for my ceiling, as there’s a roof leak right over my kitchen… second time in a year… stupid apartment…. I’ll trade with you!
Im in Iowa
We currently have around 14 to 15 inches of snow
it’s 38 degrees over here…mixed rain…but it was 50 degrees yesterday…somethin’s up…
Winter would be in southern canada: it went from rain to snowing buckets in about five minutes, in which we got about 5 inches <_<. Crack is putting it lightly.
It’s here in Missouri. thirty degrees every day.
No kiddin’. Monday was 77 Degress, Last night it snowed.
It snowed on easter last year… in Central Texas…
XD I think that nature has been on crack for a few years.
Seriously. In the valley in CA now. It’s been like spring the past few months. What happened to my dreary weather?! we need more snow in cali too.
Don’t feel too bad. It’s usually around 80 here in February.
It’s all up here in Minnesota, we stole it all!
Mwahahaha!
Come to NW Missouri. We just got 10 inches here. You’ll love it.
Winter is currently hovering over Montreal… Damn slush, soaking through my boots and making my feet wet… grumble grumble grumble.
“But where the hell is winter?!”
It probably went south for Christmas. Typical Australian summer = 35 degree C (mid 90’s F) days and constant dryness but lately we’ve been getting mid 20’s C and arseloads of rain… I’m expecting the warmest summer ever this year, just to laugh at us
lol.. it is crazy for the temps here where i live.. one day it will be in the low 30’s and then the next day it will be in the 60’s… cant ever rely on a weather forecast…
Same here in NYC. It felt really weird, walking to work in a t-shirt, yet a week ago it was freezing cold. Looks like global warming has finally kicked into action. :D
I’m in Waldorf, asking the same thing. ^-^
I went to warm up the car today, but headed right back inside and exchanged my coat for a short sleeved tee.
Stuck in Toronto, with snow dumping (No, not falling, DUMPING) from the sky.
I havn’t seen the sun in weeks.
I love living in DC because of all the swamp weather. :)
I’ll trade if you want. Out here in rural Minnesota it’s 8 degrees and the high tomorrow is 29. Our weather’s been wacky for a while now too so it’s possible Mother Nature just forgot about you guys for a while. :P
This reminds me of an article on Onion:
It’s pretty warm this week in NYC, highs in the 50’s.
er… tag didn’t show. Here’s the link:
http://www.theonion.com/content/news/fall_canceled_after_3_billion
I believe winter took a trip to West Michigan… we appear to be in the middle of a blizzard…
Your winter weather decided to go south with the birds. It decided to chill out in the coastal and desert areas for a while. D:
I really hope Mother Nature gets off of her drugs soon. D:<
You actually WANT winter?? You can have ours! We just got 16+ inches of snow over 10 hours! *grumble* stupid Wisconsin *grumble* I’d be SO happy to trade for 74 degrees!
Don’t complain, man. If you want, I’ll try and send some Wyoming snow your way. :)
It’s nice and cold up here in western Canada. Averages around 15F-20F durring the day.
kansas got freaking 10 inches last night, i dunno WHERE the hell your guys’ went.
Dude want winter? Come to Canada lol, my college has called two snow days in the last week. And my grandfather was flooded out of his house a few weeks ago north of my home.
Yeeeah, mother nature is on crack.
Haha, I hear ya Hawk. I’m down here in Stafford, walked outside to drive to classs and was shocked when a wave of cold air never came.
*laughs* At least you are not in Fairbanks, Alaska as I am where it is currently and wonderful minus 47 degrees Fahrenheit. *grins* I am envious of your weather.
Edit: This is without wind. If wind comes through….. *grimaces* I don’t even want to think about that. I have to walk to classes and around campus. I don’t want the torture.
Australia stole your winter. Or more specifically, Adelaide stole your winter. 21c in Summer? What is this madness!
This! Is! Cliiimate Chaaaange… induced by Glooobal Waaarming!!
It’s here in Cali! It’s been below 40 and 30 degrees here for the past 3 weeks! In Northern California! What the heck?! I think you need to give us back our perfect weather man. Thief. ;)
We just got a little more than a foot of snow dropped on us here in Iowa. Sitting around 30degrees too.
Well that’s an easy question. Winter is waiting to take over summer. In the middle of July, we’ll all be hit by a blizzard and several follow up white outs.
Hey, that’s the temperature in LA! Are you sure you’re in Washington DC?
In the west side of the States o’ course
Winter is all up here in Alaska man. All -42F of it. With highs of maybe -35 tomorrow!
*laughs* You must be in Fairbanks with me.
The weather down here in Oz is on crack as well. It’s meant to be summer, but we’re having big arse electrical storms and rain, followed by a day of sun, then some more electrical storms and rain…
The midwest stole it.
You can have our snow. =\
woooow, its the same temperature in D.C. as it is in southern california? Thats just not right
I’m sure someone’s already said it, but where’s winter? It moved to Atlantic Canada.
Within the past month we’ve had:
- Freezing rain
- Ice storms
- Total snowfall of almost 7 feet (no, that’s NOT a typo) with a LOT more snow on the way before May
- Lowest temperature so far this winter was -25c (-13 degrees fahrenheit)
- 4 major blizzards within 1 month (no, I’m not talking about the type DQ make)
- Repeated cycles of blizzard, freezing rain, ice melt, blizzard, freezing rain, ice melt, blizzard…
Anyway, you get the idea. Most people around here feel like jumping in front of a bus right about now. :-/
We just got a foot of snow here in Iowa these past few days.
it’s in Milwaukee, I’m snowed in right now. around 2 to 3 feet.
Well, I just plowed my way out of my house for the second time this week, but that’s to be expected up in Toronto.
Mother nature is on crack up here too, just in her usual way D:
I wish it was like that, right now in lower mich its freezing “sports equipment” cold. and what do you know, its seems that my furnace thought that it was a great time to break down as it snowed in a very very cold maner.
snow = fun
cold = sucktastic
so, may i share your not cold?
Whereas we just had ten inches of snow up here in Toronto, Canada. Go fig. Heh.
Yup, its waiting for me outside my window, been having freak blizzards here in canada for the past few weeks. I gets weird and warm every so often and everything melts. I swear that never happened when i was a kid
