Juan Casas uses ballpoint pens to create 10ft ‘photograph’ art.
Man, I’m totally inspired to draw with a pen now.

I draw at work with a pen all the time but all they ever do is tell me to stop doing that.
Wowserz! Hawk, THAT is fraggin’ kewl! How ’bout trying a photoreal pen drawing of Eve?
seconded !! 10ft big should do for a subtle Eye-catcher…
tis a bit good that so it is.
I did not know ball point pens were so cool. If only bic made better clips for them so I could carry them without breaking the cap.
…………..sic…………………………
Wow, absolutely amazing.
Bah. You just like the boobies he draws…
Chyeah…
Anyone NOT liking them ??
Yes I think we all want to see Hawk draw more boobs!
That is really cool AND inspiring.
Hmm…I was thinking…he could like…he could draw porn…I swear people would jack off to a drawing instead o’ that stupid anime hentai…
Unless you’re Dom…
Ooh sickburn!
I’m vulgar :(
This guy is too talented to live. He’ll probably end up under a bus.
Haha, having a bad day?
You drew those pictures didn’t you?
he did some pretty crazy gradients in skin tone with just a ballpoint pen
That’s cause it was really big!
rofl
really cool…thx…i always thought about drawing one comic site that size…an exhibition made out of one comic where every site has 10 ft…
nice pictures but… why does “she” show off her tits so much? Oo
this is amazing stuff.. i’ve dabbled with ball-point pens myself.. mostly because im bored in school and that is all i have with me.. and i know how frustratingly difficult they can be.. he has a great talent there
I tend to draw with ballpoint when I’m waiting for food at a restaurant. :P It’s a nice way to pass time.
Those, however, are FAR beyond what I could do and do . . . well do. I just do little cartoon doodles of my own accord.
It is refreshing to see that talent doesn’t always require the best tools. ;P
And my art professors get on my case about using mechanical pencils…
Just goes to show you can create great art with just about anything
I bet he used a projector to enlarge the photos and shine them onto his canvas like they do for photo realistic paintings. it’s not that difficult it just takes practice.
I’m a little amazed at the shadows in it, myself–while those kinds of pens are good for lines, filling things in solid like that is a royal pain due to what it does to the paper…
He may have modified the pen somehow. Or specialty paper, that may have helped, who knows.
that is totally awesome! i want to know if he uses a picture as a reference
