I remember watching Knight Rider when I was little. Well, K.I.T.T comes back as a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR. The two-hour television movie set to air on February 17.

Man, I see enough Mustangs in the movies and most TV shows. Please use another car. I’m so sick of the Mustang.
As for the movie… For Shame!!! K.I.T.T. shall and will forever be a Pontiac Firebird to me. A part of me just died. I’m sad now. Otherwise rock on man, I just hope it’s not as bad as the last tv movie.

(okay, 2nd day in a row I’m the first to comment…weird…)

It speaks to the 80’s kid (and the g33k) in me when this makes me say, “w00t, yeah!” And the Hoff too. Isn’t that something.

Now if they could only bring back Airwolf…hee hee…

This is SO funny - just last night I said to my wife, “Since re-making old TV shows from our kid-hood into big movies is such the rage, how soon d’yer think we can expect The Greatest American Hero in the multiplex?”

Having KITT be a mustang is like having Smokey drive a Challenger.

Heresy, I say!

It’s too bad they got Will Arnett to be the voice of KITT. Now I’ll have to watch it anyway.

As mentioned earlier, using a Mustang is a travesty to the series. I’ll be willing to bet Ford threw a pile of money to feature their cars wherever possible.

Lord knows they aren’t selling many cars otherwise.

I saw this discovery channel special where they invited Shelby back to make the ‘new’ cobra… it looked tits but it still has a ford tranny (anyone who’s tried to get one fixed will have a sob story for you) and a crappy ‘new’ engine … the original AC cobra with mustang engine owned it’s sorry ass, sad to say. It really looked tits but that doesn’t count for much. Ask any rice boy with a car that they spent more on the outside on than the inside how it feels to be smoked off the line by a stock honda because they weighed their car down with so much bling.

That is too funny. (lol) I love Honda and I wish they could have used something like a SI, or the new Acura NSX, or the Toyota Supra Concept. Now that would have been hot. Imports have too many mods and you can do almost anything to them. They are the ultimate tinker toys. I am curious to see how this movie will turn out. I would also like to know what happened to the other car form the movie? That red car they used was hot! :)

Ok, after doing a few searches I saw the red car and it looks wack! I am officially disappointed. :(

You know, I can’t help but feel underwhelmed by their selection for a Mustang. That red KITT in KR2000 was the shiznit so going from that to a plain ol’ Stang just disappoints. I think I’ll pass.

First off, KITT wasn’t a Firebird, he was a Trans Am. Performance model. Secondly, what made that style so cool was it looked futuristic, even by today’s standards. That Ford looks like a brick.

Everyone complains about the car, but if I don’t hear William Daniels coming out of that car, I’m turning the whole series off. I mean didn’t they learn from Transformers? (Yes the movie overall sucked, but Peter Cullen was badass as Prime)

Hollywood’s screwing things up again. Seriously.

I had heard that they were going to use a Koenigsegg CCX as the new KITT. That would be awesome. When you look at the Koenigsegg CCX it just plain looks futuristic and awesome. Plus the KITT/CYLON scanner would fit awesome on it

I’m sure a ton of people are protesting this new change. It’s gonna be another hollywood crapjob that nobody will watch.

The one and only choice for a new KITT that works:

A modified 5th gen Camaro

(I do realize the Camaro is not in production yet and it wasn’t an option for this wannabe TV show. Here’s to hope that it’s gonna be in Larson’s movie.)
