Heh, I can understand you. I don’t know how Ramadan works, but I think I’ve got a general idea about it. I have to practice Randan and don’t eat food that I like for 40 days throughout the month before Easter day. Since I like chocolate, adore pizzas and LOVE meat, I’d have to cut them out, and suddenly the 40 days seem like a full looong year.

Is Randan similar to Ramadan, or is their a difference? Apart from the set month difference, of course. Anyhow, I know the pain of suddenly seeing everyone around (except you) eating or drinking the foods that you absolutley love, especially on televison. Urgh, televison during then is one big BIATCH. Always showing many different kinds of chocolate and dishes during that time…BIaTCH, I say. :(

Anyhow, you’ll be getting your revenge soon enough by -25 days. Then you can eat a huge chocolate cake gleefully in front of anybody who’s fasting for any resons what so ever. ‘Cose then it would be Hawk’s vengence month! Yeah!

I hope I cheered you up somehow. Resist these coming Ramadan days, ignore the food wolf calling you somehow, then avenge yourself on who ever bothered you later! Not now though, because you’d probably fall for lack of food.

Meanwhile, congratulations for reaching 200 lite comics! Don’t give up Hawk, just -25 days left, you CAN do it!!!

The big, no the huuuge, difference is, that in ramadan you’re not allowed to eat ANYTHING between sunrise and sunset. You also not allowed to drink, chew gum, smoke, brush your teeth or have sex. In other words you’re not allowed to put anything in your mouth. Oh and sex.
When the sun went down you will be starving and eat everything that comes in your way.
During ramadan you’re also supposed to pray a lot, spend time with your family, and watch your attitude, be kind and thoughtfull with others.
When ramadan is over you celebrate the eid ul-fidr, one of the biggest muslim holidays.
All in all ramadan is kinda like christmas, thanksgiving and the christian fasting time put together in one month.

Ramadan mubarak Hawk!

Actually semi serious question. Does your location define sunrise/sunset, or some set religious location. Because I know where I live, the time between sunrise and sunset is probably like 5 hours and no one would notice.

But someone in the south hemispheare right now, could potentially have 24 hours of sun (or near to it). Though I know the Qur’an would allow eating for survival (anyone dumb enough to fast while lost in the woods for a month…)

Congrats on 200 Lite comics.

I tell ya, I’m not a guy for fasting, though I know it teaches discipline and causes a deal of self-reflection, I just have issues doing it. Lack of will-power on my part perhaps.

Good luck nonetheless. Don’t gorge too much after sunset. ;-)

Congrats from Mexico, Hawk; 200 diferents ways of smiling.
We have a look-like celebration, Cuaresma(english) it’s take 40 days.
It’s supposed that do can’t eat red meats during those 40 days, but later was changed to just fridays. But well, that it’s only for catholics…

Can you let certain moments slide in ramadan, like eating something your not suppose to have, and if you do, do you have to redo every day, or add a day.

Congrats on 200 AG Lites, Hawk! *throws confetti* I love the big comic but I always get such a chuckle out of AGL. I have a friend in the office who’s a Mac fan and one day we were chatting about the iPhone…I printed out “Enough Already” for her and left in her inbox ~_^ I also had “Brain Boot” posted in our copy room for a long time. ^_^

(Have a blessed Ramadan too =) )
