If you’re a moleskine fan, check out Moleskinerie and Moleskine on Flickr. After going through the groups, I decided to add pages from my moleskine sketchbook.

Wow…that’s some nice–no, no..wait, that’s some beautiful artwork Hawk.
thats some really sweet work man.
Wow….that second sketch is GORGEOUS!
I liked them both….but I prefered the Eve stuff…
Nice work, as always. Is the shading in the second one done with the mechanical pencil?
yeah.
Just like, an HB lead and some finger-smudging or ?? I wish I could spend some time to learn from an artist like you.
i used to think i was decent at draing. now that just recked my dreams:
great job though! awsome shading, i use mechanical pencil too
Your sketches are amazing.
Oh man id live to get my hands on some of those sketches for inking practise. Share the love man^^
Good God!! I could only dream of being that good…Right on Hawk! And also..Whos the Girlie??? Nice work as always!
You have to stop at getting better Hawk !! You are far too close to the critical mass of awesomeness!
Awww, the one of Hawk and Alice is darling.
Rrargh. The rest of my comment got whacked…
Anyway, what I meant to add was: Beautiful work, Hawk. You have been blessed, for sure.
I really dig your artwork man, but I must say that it’s good to see some of your more realistic works (that portrait is very nice). It really shows the width and breadth of your talents.
Extraordinary! That’s really amazing stuff.
The Applegeeks comic cell shading is good, but I actually like Eve a bit better with a more realistic shading/shadows.
And I’m doing good just to draw stick figures…. :\
Beautiful artwork hawk.
always enjoyed my spare time reading here.
you’ve got talent, haque.
kudos!
What’s so great about moleskine? Is it just the quality of the outer cover and binding, or is the paper high quality too? Thanks! Also, for what it’s worth, nice sketches. :D
Just one more person saying you’re awesome. Those sketches are amazing, and Eve specifically is breathtaking.
Not to keep repeating what everyone here has already said, but it is true. the depth of Eve on the second picture is exquisite.
Theres my 2 cents, later.
ah, amazing, like it’s been said before.
second question, which is pure curiosity. I apologize if it is deemed as rude or something…
are you fasting tommorrow :] ?
Beautiful sketches! Just wondering what brand is that pencil?
I am glad to see that i am not the only one obsessed with the awesome $15 pencils that pentel makes.
You are DAMN good…
i grabbed one of these, but i picked up a reporters one. i’m actually using it as a journal during my classes XD. stray thoughts. things i need to tell people, stuff like that realy [so i guess a regular enough journal XD]
so far i’ve been asked no questions as to what i’ve been writing… i also picked up the small one, the ~3X5 instead of the larger one.
How is it to write in? Different than normal paper? Holds ink better i.e. less smudging? I must know!
More important than the book…… Is that a pentel graphgear 1000 .5 lead size? I’ve got one of those and I friggin love it.
Very cool stuff. I’m surprised I’m that first to mention this, but has anybody heard of Moresukine (Sound it out - it’s the Japanese word for “Moleskine”)? http://tokyoblog.livejournal.com The basic premise is that, while this guy is living in Tokyo, he accepts “assignments” from readers, usually relating to Japanese oddities, that he must complete and then chronicle in comic form in his Moresukine journal. Some really interesting stuff.
Im kinda glad that you ARE the only one to mention that. o.O…lol
this is gonna sound like a stupid question but what is moleskin? is it actually skin off the animal or a type of new paper that has been made?
Moleskine
*sigh* I love journals…I saw these at B&N but I ended up getting a different kind. I’m putting off getting one because I already have a few other journals (one is from Crane & Co) that I need to fill…hehehe…=)
I think it’s neat that even after doing this comic for so long that you can still be inspired enough by your characters to do full-scale drawings of them. I’d have thought drawing them every few days for the comic would have gotten you somewhat burnt out on it.
Lovely sketches but that pencil is really sexy xDD what brand is it?
I have that pencil! It is my baby! *cuddle*
I’m such a dork…I read a bunch of reviews of that pencil and I bought it off eBay. I won’t say I did so because Hawk has one…but hee, if he didn’t have one, I wouldn’t have known about it. ~_^ If it’s not Ananth and Threadless, it’s Hawk for Pentel and Moleskine…j/k.
I’m on a ‘fine writing instrument’ kick anyway lately. So it’s all good. Ha, I think the little bumps on the grip makes it look like a Dalek. /geek
Sweet drawing there. Soooo when do you start doing the pencils for the Batman comic series? Just kidding…kind of. :P
I love my Moleskine, but I am not nearly as good with it yet.
Ramadan Mubarak.
