I use Google Reader to view all my RSS feeds but lately I’m getting really annoyed with some of the websites out there. For example, here’s the RSS feed for Gizmodo, a popular technology weblog about consumer electronics.

TUAW is also another website I like to check out, but just like Gizmodo, they will not shut up about the iPhone. The way I see it, if the iPhone fails, people will blame Apple for the hype. But is Apple really the one hyping the product or is it bloggers with no self control?

It seems you may have a point, as depicted in this article from the SF chronicle. It’s pretty amusing though.

While I like the iPhone, the amount of hype is insane, I must admit I am tired of it.

A huge plus, however, was in the dallas morning news today…this will really push other cell phone companies to spend more on R&D. Whether or not the iphone flops, which i dont think/hope it wont do so, it will help push other companies towards newer and better things.

This would be the best result of all the iPhone hype. Just like the music industry, cell phone companys need to look for new ways to structure thier businesses and how they interact with thier customers.

Yeah, count me in as another avid Apple fan tired of the iPhone hype. Can’t wait till it’s all said and done with.

Well, reviewers can say what they like, but I think they’re really innovative and groundbreaking. I’m holding my store’s demo iPhone (I work in rockwall, texas) and I’ve never been a Mac fan at all. I don’t have a mac, an iPod, and have never wanted one, but I actually kind of want one now, though I think I’ll wait awhile.

So, Hawk, this is the first time I’ll have posted (been reading for a couple years) and you now have a first post -from- an iPhone.

Kind of ridiculous around here, the hype it’s getting. If it were Verizon, I’d think about getting one, but I’m not going to stand in line to get something I’ll use seldomly for $500.

iWhat? iPhone? iDon’tCare at the moment.

The one thing I cant stop thinking about is how whenever something gets astronomically overhyped it either turns out to be true and owns ass, or it is actually so horrible that a global demand for memory supressants comes out because of how desperate people aare of forgetting the HORROR.
lapsed into story writing mode for a sec, sorry.

I’m waiting for the iPhone Lite. Apple’s RAZR killer for those of us who want a kickass phone, but don’t need all the extra features of a smartphone.

Yea the hype is insane on the iPhone. But the only way I see it failing is if the price doesn’t eventually come down.

Problem is, from what the sales rep told me about how the iPhone will be sold is:

You can’t “buy” the phone.
You have to have a NEW 2 year contract to get one from AT&T (I think this confused them because even though I have a current 2 year subscription, they wouldn’t let me get one).
You can only get one from the corporate offices which may or may not be in convenient driving distance from where you live

I hope to god that this doesn’t change how cell phone companies sell their phones. They are already restrictive about phones from one company not working with another company. Now add 5 year exclusive deals too?
