The coolest way to fix this problem would be to just get a new after-market cd-player, look for the features that you want.

'05 Impala...gone through 5 of them. (I'm a fleet manager.) I've never tried a burned cd-r in one of them, but I've had a banged-up factory pressing fail to play. Most likely reason: not the highest quality CD player in the vehicle.

Aside from that, I've had exactly Zero mechanical problems with '05 Impalas, or their Pontiac cousin the G6. I love `em, and I'm getting ready to buy more.

or you could try finalizing the CD and closing the session when you burn a CD. alot of cd decks cannot read burnt CDs if they are not finalized. For some reason they need to read the EOF tag or whatever it is.

Have you tried the discs in any other CD players? Just to be sure it's not the discs.
It's been quite a while since I burned any CDs from iTunes, but I seem to recal that it defaults to "Maximum" burn speed, and that that can cause problems. So you might try Neuro's suegestion of setting the burn speed to a lower setting.

I had the same problem awhile back. It seems that some cheeper or older cd's sometimes don't work becuase of that fact. But also tring draging and dropig the music files out of Itunes on to your desktop and then just drag them as files.
