While global warming is a big issue, I think that it shouldn't be the the only issue. We all know where Gore stands on the environment, but past that, do we know how he feels about other issues anymore? I'm sure we're easy enough to just throw him into the stereotypical democrat category and say "Okay, he stands for these political and social and economic issues," but I'd really like to hear it come out of his mouth. In any case, Gore is on the Apple Board of Directors. Why wouldn't Jobs support him?

I just see this as almost a bit of a marketing ploy, as well as nothing more than a celebrity using their influence to try and influence others. Sorry, but as smart as a lot of people are, there are enough people who are Mac owners who are dumb enough to take Job's word as law and think "Well, if it's good enough for Mr. Jobs, it's good enough for me! durrrr"

Well, crap. Re-read your comment _in context_ and see that you were responding to the "Re-elect Bush" comment. See, this is why it never pays to be a dick online.

You're right. I'm wrong. EOL

Uh. Not to be a dick, but he was *VICE* president. I know, hard to keep straight.

And before you say that I'm wrong, Bush the first (41) was vice-president under Ronald Reagan (40) for two terms before becoming president for one term. He was defeated by Bill Clinton (42) while attempting to win a second term as president.

Fair enough. It is biased, as it was trying to convince an undecided majority to side with it. I stick by other affirming scientific studies though, which means I'm required to defend the standpoint sort of by default. I did exam other viewpoints -I'm required too - but the scientific groundings is somewhat spurious for most. They're largely dismissable, although I concede that some simply need further investigation to acertain their worth.

I don't really know what effect Gore would have on your country, if he did get elected. I get the impression it would initially be beneficial (withdrawing from Iraq, five minutes of being 'Mr Clean'), but people would start forgetting the reasons for his green actions quite quickly if they started having a negative impact on them personally, ie, enforced recycling, caps on waste, pollution limitations, etcetera. Am I right? How would the average American react to that?

http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/house.asp

Also, talking with friends from TN Gore owns one of the worst SuperFund sites in the state (former Mining site).

I do not dislike him, and quite probably vote for him, but keep in mine his Documentary did play loose with facts in places.

Good message though!

Gore definitely has the right mindset, but we need a president who's focused on more then just one thing. I mean, yeah global warming is here, right in our face, and threatening to "exterminate" all of humanity, but still we also got to deal with the other issues. Fixing just one isn't enough.

I'd be worried though. There are a lot of dumb people and all Gore would have to say is, "I'll stop global warming" and everyone would vote for him. Nobody would pay attention to the other issues and Gore would win with the widespread attention of "An Inconvenient Truth" backing him up.

Still, not sure who'd be worse. Hillary Clinton wants to get rid of video games(slight exaggeration) and Al Gore can't focus on anything but global warming. I guess I'll just choose the lesser of two evils like I always do. :P
