Hmm…this is an interesting start. All they have to do is start applying this mod to the MacBook Pro and I’d switch my entire workflow over to Macs. Actually, I’m still considering it, even as just a Macbook instead of being a MBP.

ok it’s a cool screen on it but the money it cost that just shame it is wierd the best macbook the black cost $1,499.00 but the best modbook is as good as the black macbook cost 2800 dollars and have a better screen and a gps inside but that don’t mean it have to cost a 1100 dollars more its strange apple is always with a cheaper computer that’s fact but modbook is very cool but not cheap i like it cheap and good and i’m just gonna get iphone later and buy a macbook pro.

i want relly to know why apple didn’t think of the idea of modbook
but the hard driv and ram and all that is just the same that are in macbook
under the screen of modbook there is usb fire wire and stuff it’s just the same that are in macbook it is a macbook with a tochscreen and some stuff on and off buttons are not like in macbook and i want to now what company came up with this great idea see ya.

Correction on the Bootcamp thing, it’s not his G5, it’s his new iMac. The G5 is currently OS X 10.2. Our school is cheap and won’t pay to uphrade it… hhe… oops >_> *looked like an idiot*

As for tablets… I think I may have to stick to *gasps* Microsoft software for awhile until Im sure that this Mac stuff actually works effectively.

if they come out with a kit, i’m buying it…i see no point however in buying a whole new laptop, as great as they are.

If you don’t like that they are expensive amd only available on macbooks it sounds like they will be releasing a mod kit with everything but the laptop. Considering how expensive the macbook version is, I’m not surprised they didn’t release a MBP version. No one would buy it. The kits should be alot cheaper and they’ll probably put out a MBP version of those. If I hadnt heard about that I would’ve probably ordered one myself! ; )

umiRYU is absolutely correct. None of the MacBooks have the necessary power to run Photoshop or Painter, considering PS alone can use up to 2GB or RAM and the MacBooks top out at 2. And they partition out some of that RAM to video display. Adding a second display to the original would tax that even further.

I might do it if that was a mod to a 17″ MBP
