you call that a shovelling? For us Canucks we get like double that a day. We’ve already had -30 (-22 farentheit) temp down here and i shovelled for 3 hrs today. Pfft.

Last week we had 2 storms in a row, and i lost my mother’s car. It’s a big black suv and it was completely buried, took a while to get out too.

Anath, if we had the snow you guys had there, it wouldn’t be a snow day, just a regular annoyance.

It’s still comming down in CT. I tried to brave it and walk to the nearest convenience store, and i failed. Then theres the driveway… which i cannot seem to find at this moment.

Agree. Long long long driveway. I’d have been all “Screw that! It’ll melt all in good time!”

And Ananth, I saw you and Hawk listed as guests at the Middle TN Anime Convention. If so, I may have to drive down and meet ya. I promise not to throw my underwear at ya, though. Well, maybe at Hawk, but only because it’d be funny.

all we have is below zero weather and no snow. but i don’t mind not getting the random foot+ of snow. i’ll take just the below zero.

Anath, I’m the same as Ryan, i would have had that shoveled and salted in an hour or so, there’s not that much snow on the ground, just enough to have to shovel. I need to post pictures of my driveway and street so you can see the mountains of snow (theres a 20ft pile right in the middle of the cul-de-sac).

guess the difference is that I do a lot of shovelling in my line of work, compared to the gravel I’m used to shovelling snow is a peice of cake, and technique is crucial

What really sucks is when you finally finish clearing off a foot of snow from the driveway . . . only to have the freakin city snow removal crews fill the end back up again with the front end loader. And not with light fluffy snow either, but broken up hard packed chunks. Bastards . . .

I went outside around noon. There’s a thick layer on all the snow and I could walk on top of it.

I felt like God, only less awe-inspiring.

Same for me, storm today, will close down the city, supposed to be 3-4 feet in only a few hours, ugh…

But for christmas this year we got a brand new snowblower! Family present, isn’t that great?

Man, I tell ya, the shoveling around here in San Diego is terrible. It’s been about 79 degrees. You know how hard that is to shovel?

Only as hard as you want it to be. ^_^

I’d put some gasoline mixed with salt in a bucket, then throw that over the driveway and set fire to the driveway
clears it, and keeps it cleared :) done in 10 minutes :D
