Fantastic! See you there! :D
The LITE comic is awsome! Good one :)
Hey the new comic is weird. In the way i thought it was sorta funny, but also annoyingly political.
PLEASE NO MORE POLITICS/recent event type stuff.
okay..hows this…get rid of all the fuckin assholes in the world…if you can do that, then we’ll play nice.
other than that, we’ll do whatever we feel like doing.
Are you serious? We basically made a big joke out of the whole thing.
That and Hawk’s right – we’ll do whatever we feel like doing. There’s precious little negativity (if you can even call it that) in Applegeeks, but this is something we feel strongly about, so you’re going to have to deal. Sorry man.
Dude, listen politics are part of life. Comics are a representation of fiction mixed in with real life scenarios. Expecting to never be confronted with politics EVER is probably not a good way to go about things considering that’ll never happen.
I’m certain Hawk has had his share of Airport and travel issues because he’s Muslim. The targeting of Muslim Americans isn’t right. It’s ethnic profiling which is prohibited by law in the United States. Of course most Muslim Americans just endure it because they don’t want to make a scene.
Not too long ago six innocent Muslim American clerics were illegally removed from a commuter plane because a woman got nervous there were openly praying before their flight. It happened to be one of the given times of the day they would normally do this regardless of setting. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjA85OAH8Ew)
I personally like it when my favorite comics bring a sense of real life into them as it helps me identify even further with both the characters and the writers. It’s not something you can, or will get away from. Even MegaTokyo and other popular web comics are full of political statements.
I write too much, and am passionate. Feel free to email me you flames… I have a flame retardant inbox.
Wish I could be there, guys! I’m talking up podcasting at Farpoint. Have a good weekend, and I’ll see you around.

Gads, I forgot to pre-register. Here’s to waiting a few in hours in line. *sigh*
Nah, you’re probably better off that way; the pre-reg lines have gotten hideous over the years. :D
Yeah but you are saying people will strip search any muslim at the drop of a hat. And yes politics are part of life, i like to listen to talk radio (yes the EVIL conservative kinds like Michael Savage, but not Sean Handey:P)but i don’t like seeing political stuff everywhere i go.
“Yeah but you are saying people will strip search any muslim at the drop of a hat”
No one said that.
And this particular bit of politics is here to stay.
Hey I wouldn’t mind chatting about this or other subjects,
email me (warrior_monk721 @ yahoo dot com) or my myspace thing.(sorry i put in my clan’s myspace, i wish i could edit it T_T)
i just thought of something…how did eve get there in the first place? Wasn’t she kid/robonapped i can’t remember.
Uh … you might have some catching up to do …
1) Awesome comic.
2) Awesome boxers.
3) Any plans to arrange for those in the store?
*frantically running around*
Not… ready… for… Katsu… *thud*
It’ll be great to see you guys again. :D
I don’t know exactly why I’m commenting on the board here, as I generally shy away from this kinda thing. I’m really looking forward to seeing you guys at Katsucon this year, as I’ve been a long time fan of the strip. It’s been a treat to watch Hawk’s skills as an artist progress, as well as the somewhat eye-opening mac plugs (Hawk in a Gerbil-ball being dragged behind a car is still one of the funniest images I’ve yet seen here… save the Shotgun strips of long past.) Ananth’s writing is as poignant as ever, and you two work really well together. And since it seems to have become the thing to talk about, I may as well add my two cents about the most recent strip. I personally thought it was nothing short of hysterical, and a wonderful way of coping to the current state of affairs in our airports. It’s not only something that the character would do, but it’s just political enough to kinda tap people on the knee and remind them that things are kinda outta whack. But at the same time, the fact that you keep your sense of humor about you (the plural you) is wonderful/inspiring. So, until you release Applegeeks 9/11: The Steve Jobs Rules the World Conspiracy With Mac Products and Bill Gates is the Devil/ George “Puppet” W.’s Creator (Slated for summer 2030 Release!), keep the humor coming. It’s refreshing!

End of Line
…
P.S. HAHAHAHAAAAA j00 guyz 4re t3h r0>
Damn! It cut me off!… I’m replying to my own message. Wow…
I think the guys handle the message the right way every time. It IS funny. It IS a statement on current politics. And it ISN’T done in an exaggerated way. It furthers the story a bit, as now we know Hawk and Eve are heading home. Just so happens to be on a plane. On an international flight. And Hawk is Muslim. You ask me, it’s pretty damned witty. Eve is a robot with extreme power for destruction. How do you distract the screeners from a robot full of metal? Toss a Muslim at them. I have a friend of Irani descent and she graduated from Law School. The Bar sends her papers asking about her whereabouts on 9-11. THAT’S pretty messed up.
I wonder if that works in every situation. Girlfriend broke up with you? Toss a Muslim at her! Car broke down? Toss a Muslim at it! Hate your job? Become Muslim? Okay, so maybe not EVERYTHING can be fixed that way.
Have fun at Katsucon, guys. Maybe someday you’ll be at one near me, and I can come stalk.. er… I mean say hello. Yeah, that’s it. Just saying hello.
Go to comic con NY…………please >_
