I was gonna make a comment that it seemed quite warm to me…then I remembered that it’s likely in Farenheit…
Ahh, such a pretty weather applet.
Please tell me I don’t need a mac to get it =)
The google gadgets weather globe just can’t compare. Maybe someone can make a clone =)

PS: If you ever hit the Mongolian BBQ again, let me know. Maybe we can schedule an outing around Katsu…
Well, its a dashboard widget, so I’m not sure. It is the prettiest weather widget I’ve seen. All I can tell you is it says “AccuWeather.com” on the back. Don’t know where you would get a PC equivalent.
Konfabulator is still around and before OSX got widgets I used Konfabulator. They have a version that works for the PC as well.
Also their is a yahoo - weather widget for Konfabulator that looks very much like the one on 10.4.
For the app: http://www.widgetgallery.com/
Yahoo Weather Widget: http://widgets.yahoo.com/yahooweatherwidget/
Good luck… oh and get a Mac! ^_^

Konfabulator might have one, but I agree: Get a Mac! :)
Actually, although it’s pretty, I don’t use it! It’s just a bit too inaccurate….
Of course, that’s what happens when you have just a high/low/primary weather icon - and the weather is rarely consistant and predictable enough this time of year for one icon to apply for an entire 24-hour day!
I need to figure out how to program widgets…. I could create a widget to display the National Weather Service forcast and statements.

There you go, its for Avedesk (dont worry, this one is freeware)
heh, just noticed the name of the guy who made it ” aquahawk”. Coincidence… or maybe not? :P
If I may say so, that’s pretty fucked up. However, two weeks ago it was +15 and then it went down to -20 plus windchill. Celsius. Now it’s working it’s way back up to spring-like temperatures. I live in Eastern Canada. Hello, global warming.
Getting snowed in was supposed to be one of the “charms” of attending the University of Rochester. They even have underground tunnels just so you can get from one building to the other and, perhaps, not starve whilst buried under ten feet of snow.
We just got our first snow of the year less than two weeks ago. Its a few inches deep, at best. So, um, yeah.
I blame Dick Chaney.
Let him see that, and I’m sure you’ll get some led pumped into your face, lol. Still, thats some freaking cold weather!
about two weeks ago it was in the high 50s in NY’s capital region. now there is snow every day.
did i ever mention i hate NY? ’cause i do.
i’m still working on getting out to troy friday night. *crosses fingers and hopes for a miricle*
well, there’s supposed to be a lotta cold thingy where i’m at. and snow. but i’m not gunna get all giddy hoping for a snow day.
is that the thursday comic in the background? Because it looks really cool
Well crap, i live in washington and we haven’t gotten any sign of snow yet for a loooong time…. hey Hawk… can i have some schnow?
Yup…..Troy is cold….all of upstate NY is cold now….I’ve been shoveling a foot of snow here in Oswego NY, too.
Well…all I can say is that where I live, -11 C (11 F) is actually considered normal, if not a bit to warm for winter :P We get here even around -35 C (-31 F), rarely -40 C (-40 F). But normally it is around -20 to -25 C (-4 to -13 F).But this year has been quite warm, wich is really unusual. Global warming perhaps.
We have also a lot of snow at the moment…around 10-15cm (3.9-5.9 in).
So you have it quite warm there in the US. :) Oh…I live in the north-east part of Europa. In a small country called Estonia.
Well, Europe..nice Canada have that kind of weather too ! In Quebec (where I live) its around -15 C so…0 F ? Bad at converting celsius to farenheit
Eh. I go to school in Fairbanks, AK. Usually around -10 to -15, often gets down to -50 during winter…..
your good canadian friend here says HOORAH! to all the snow! It’s about time, I can finally crack out the snowmobile and USE it. I love snow :)
For the record it’s currently 18F (feels like 9F) here in Ontario.
wooo pretty, we have almost the same thing under linux =p
boy, that sure would be nice. It’s in the thirties here, and it never snows (we have a 40% chance of snow tomorrow, which means it’ll be cold and rainy all day)
That’s actually pretty warm for late January around here.
Lucky… It’s colder over there than it is here..
I shouldn’t complain, though. It’s only a four to ten degree difference. XD
We had a snow storm this morning and everything shut down for the morning….now its half warm out and rainy so instead of lots of snow we have slush. Thats Newfoundland weather for ya!
Sheesh, we’d be walking around without jackets here in MN. Thats like spring time . :P
I live in south TX for a reason - No snow and people bundle like they are going skiing if the temp goes below 50F. And the mention of ice rain or snow shuts some things down. Now I am going to snuggle under my covers and hope to live through this freezing 45F night…….kidding, I have HEAT.
p.s. I pretty much live off of that weather widget, because the temperature goes up and down so quickly around here.
wait - you’re in Troy? No kidding….I’m like half an hour away from you. That’s weird. but yeah - our weather lately is fucked. and this weekend is supposed to be damn bloody cold too. we didnt get any snow until January…it sure was nice though in November and having it feel like August. now we’re paying for it
Welcome to Upstate Hawk. Unfortunatly you’re in one of the least snoy areas but that’s ok. You should check out the Golden Snowball Race to see just how much snow NY should be getting. http://goldensnowball.com/
Hawk
How fuck long have you been in Troy? I went to RPI for four years and would have totally found you and thrown stuff at you if I had known.
Mike Stanton
They’re in Troy for Genericon
You wished for snow…now you have it!
Say what now?
weee i used to live in the Big apple ^_^
NOAA has been saying for like a a half a year now that El Nino would produce this kind of weather this winter and on into the spring. I happens every few years on a simi-regular basis.
