Finally posted issue 311, sorry it took so long. You can also watch a quick video of me coloring the first panel of the comic. Once again, the video is not a tutorial but an overview of how I work.

Very Very Cool! :)
I hate this new site design soooo much.
here’s an idea, stop visiting.
Little suggestion.
Do it in this order:
1. Think.
2. Talk.
Here’s my suggestion, get lost.
Right, well, we’ll just forget about the hours - no, wait days - no, wait, weeks - of work and get right on a new site design for ya.
I’m sure you put plenty of work into it, but it’s much inferior in terms of functionality.
There is a reason webcomics typically have a “back” and “forward” link at the top and/or(preferably both) bottom; reading comics in series is a linear sequence.
It does. Open up any comic in the archive, mouseover it, and viola! back and forward icons appear
Cybur: i dont think his brain can handle all that.
It hates you too.
to recite a famous quote from an unkown author
“CRY MORE NEWB!”
dude, I hate you! and I love ya! dammit, your coloring just puts me to shame! aghh!
too cool.
Wow…Wow, I am in awe of what I just saw. And I think the new site design is really well done.
Hawk, quick question if you don’t mind me asking. I see you just using the color selector for mistah bear, but what about your regular characters? Do you have swatches set up for them or just eye it each time?
Even if it’s not designed as a tutorial, I still learn things every time you show how you do your work. Thanks for taking the time to do things like this.
Wow, I actually learned something today from you, even if it wasn’t a tutorial.
And the new comic is cuuuute! :)
Absolutely amazing. It looks like you applied some post effects, too, though, and there’s that clock thing in the background…
Also, borderline drum and bass! Yes!
awesome! makes me wanna learn how to actually do good images on the computer, i normally stick to paint =P, anyway love your work, stay kool =D
once again you make it look so easy……. i wanna worship and strangle you at the same time….
How the…that was like amazing =/
Great video as always Hawk; I always thought you colored by hand, I didn’t think you used the polygonal lasso tool. Very interesting! I’ll definitely watch it a few more times (And in slow motion) when I get home! I’m really looking forward to this week’s sketch video, I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed that on Friday.
Also, the new site design sucks!!!1! (Not really, I actually love it; but I want Hawk and Ananth to bring down the law on me too! :p)
*shakes fist* Yarr, get off my porch ya whippersnappers!
Why do I feel like there’s been an increase of desperate fanboys in the world? D:
And suddenly…an AG cult is formed.
Hey Hawk, How in the world do you pick your wonderful color schemes? Where do you get your inspiration for it? Do you use any books? Amazing work.
i…just pick.
I think Hawk paid a lot of attention in his color theory class.
im suprise he didnt fall of his rocker >.> coloring is such a long process and alot is going in your head
like boobies =)
I think we all think about boobies…even when we are not coloring :p
there was a color theory class? damn.
We all know what class you failed :P
Nice job Hawk. Even though it wasn’t a tutorial, it was still informative.
Just throwing this out here for anyone interested, there are some nice tutorials on this guy’s site http://mark-sweeney.com/ and they are not dial-up friendly. He is a comic book colorist, and has an even longer history as a flatter for colorists. He also has an impressive Mac work area setup.
Thanks.
I second that. Thanks for the link
Is that video sped up much?
