CNN’s started this new feature called I-Report, which allows viewers to submit content like images, videos, and news stories that then have the potential to get posted on CNN’s website or used in news reports on their 24-hour news channel. Jon Stewart recently did a a segment about I-Report where he spends several minutes making fun of the new feature, and in response, CNN … linked it? You can get a direct link to the video here, or go to CNN.com and look for the link. The link now says “Jon Stewart mocks benefits of I-Report”, but for a couple of hours it read “Jon Stewart becomes a hottie through CNN’s I-Report” … I guess someone finally watched the clip. Anyway, why CNN would link a clip that ends with someone yelling “HEY MY BALLS ARE ON WOLF BLITZER’S HEAD” is beyond me. But it sure as hell is funny.

Darned CNN!

“The CNN.com video experience is optimized for Windows Media Player 9 or above. No Windows Media Player detected.”

Sigh, Linux gets the shaft again…

I had to send that to everyone I knew.
That’s good.

Unfortunately, very few people watch CNN here. >_

I saw that live last night, hilarious! The best part is, from my knowledge anyways, most *local* news networks offer $100 and a hat (or some similar item) for home video of breaking news. CNN, one of the largest networks on Earth, lets you brag about it…and nothing more.

Damn, neither Safari or Firefox will let me do this. It keeps telling me I don’t have Windows Media Player 9 or higher installed, even though I have 9. Anyone have any ideas?

Try the Flip4Mac plugin for QT, this lets me view most .wmv content with Safari. Can’t definitely say it will work with CNN, ’cause I’m at work on an HP instead of a real computer.
,,,and yes, I’m wearing an AG tee

I use firefox too, and I got the error, but I just said “continue to video” because I know I have WMP 9…. and it was fine.

anyway, what I really wanted to say was that I enjoyed that, and it was classic “Daily Show” material :)
