Hey guys … so my rants have been few and far between. The truth of the matter is that I’ve been reading a lot lately, and I’ve been trying to get my eye back on the news and current events again. Speaking of which, for those of you who didn’t catch this - Clinton gave an interview to Fox News, supposedly for his new Global Initiative - but partway through, the host diverts the direction of the questions. There’s a moment where you can see Clinton mentally take off his gloves. Here it is, split into two parts, on Google video:

Part 1, Part 2

Depending on where you look, some people say the video shows Clinton slapping Fox News and Chris Wallace with a clue by four - others just say Clinton went nuts on Fox News. I’m sure you can guess where I stand on that, but as always, watch the videos and decide for yourselves.

As for reading, I’ve been powering through Kafka on the Shore between work and Applegeeks. I’m about two-thirds of the way through, and so far I really like it. It’s definitely different in pacing than The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, and for a reader unfamiliar with Murakami I feel like it’s a lot more accessible.

I’ve also recently watched some japanese cult movies - Wild Zero and Zebraman. Guitar Wolf is my hero.

I’ve been making a point of cutting down on the number of distractions on my daily schedule so I can dedicate more time to writing.

Watching those vids I can only say that Clinton owned the fsck out of that host dude…allways entertaining to see people who spread misinformation get smacked down by people who DO have a clue ^^

I’d say that he failed to put anyone in his place, and I don’t think he went nuts. I’m more towards the middle of the spectrum, he just lost his cool.

That Wallace dude in my opinion is a bitch, He could have spoke about what good Clinton was doin, for the frist half of the interview, but if u check the time he change the subject within the frist four min. To me that a bitch… it was a simple bait and switch, To who that thinks that , he simply lost his cool, think about what would u to if u were in his place, with all the bull that every on the right his tryin to pile on ur shoulder after the fact that you tryed to do what u believe what was right… even after u admit to failin… two words FUKK FOXX

Sounds like he had a lot of pent up frustrations on the subject, and Fox asked the wrong question at the wrong time. ^.^;;; I’d feel sorry for him, except I find it too amusing.

Yeah Clinton was ready to smack a hoe, and the guy was being disrespectful, Clinton is a grown man he doesnt need anyone without grey hair talking to him like that. but it was funny, cause he seems like such a mellow dude.

You should check out Beat Takeshi’s movies. Brother is a good place to start, but Hanabi and Kikujiro’s Summer are amazing as well.

I’ve seen Brother, I was sort of eh about it -he was great in it, but his supporting cast made me wince.

Wild Zero is a grand movie. Such a ridiculous concept. I’m actually in the process of making a guitar katana (well, more like a guitar wakazashi since a guitar’s not long enough to house a proper katana blade size.)

The only thing I saw was a pathological liar, confronted with a question that threatened what he’s been telling himself for the last 5 years.

I’m no fan of the “great Right Wing Conspiracy”, but there’s too much documentation from BOTH sides that flatly contradicts what he was sputtering.

personaly i think the whole point of the interveiw was to wind clinton up living in the uk ive never seen much of fox news but what i have it seems to be more like a tabloid newspaper (just opinion) and really as a grown man and ex president he should be able to handle himself a little better

In a lot of ways I consider myself a centralist, though when it comes to foriegn policy I normally take the lines that Presidents George H.W. Bush and Dwight Eisenhower took on detainee and use of force only when neccessary. Mind you, I don’t follow this doctrine blindly.

Even though they have flaws, I’d rather vote for Pres. and Senator Clinton if I was an American rather than George W. Bush if they were ever able to run for some type of office again, solely because they have been able to honestly admit that they have these flaws.
Clinton’s remarks about trying to nail Bin Laden are fairly accurate though. The Tomahawks that were launched straight after the Embassy Bombings were only off the mark by about 5 minutes.

As far as guitar katanas go, the six-string samurai reigns king.

Hey, I really like your comic but I don’t really see where you guys are going with this. Also, on politics, people in the White House don’t really let anyone know what their doing for a reason. So when election time comes, everybody can blame anybody :).

Interesting coincidence…I just picked up Wild Zero on a whim (allured at the inclusion of Guitar Wolf and zombies) a couple weeks ago at the local JDM store. It has since made the rounds at the office. Rock n roll knows no boundaries!

BTW, the new site design is totally broken (as in archives/previous comics don’t work at all) when viewed with Opera.

nothing to do with your rant, although i did watch the videos and think clinton totally handled it and showed whats what. But I have to share my excitement with you in that my name was in the comic today :-D and I had an obsession of indian tea over the summer before I left for grad school. And I know, I know, there must be so many others with the same coincidence but I’m excited and I thought I’d share my excitement, and say thank you for writing Apple Geeks because it really is great, and helps me get through some pretty rough assignments and study sessions. Thanx :)

Oh thank god, someone else has seen Wild Zero. I feel more sane now…I was starting to worry I’d hallucinated the whole bloody thing in a fit of late-night projects and soda.

Eh, not a comment related to the blog, but rather the comic. Now… From all regards, Gina’s Indian. Is her dad white or somesuch? I’m just wondering, because McQuarrie sounds Irish/Scottish to my ear.
