Okay, Photoshop seems to be working again. I mentioned before I was having the same error on my Powerbook G4 couple months ago. This morning, my brother reminded me it was the Epson scanner driver that was causing the problem on my laptop. If you’re wondering, I have an Epson Perfection 1670 scanner. Photoshop seems to be working again after I removed the scanner driver from my desktop machine.
I will work on finishing the comic later tonight and have it up sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening.
Sorry for the delay.

Heh, isn’t it a nice feeling when you nail down the problem? :)
I had the same problem with the Epson Perfection 3490 Photo. Damn stupid thing… :-)
Were you getting a lot of gibberish (weird characters) folders in your Preference folder?
Hmm… Dunno… It just pushes PS to 100% cpu load ant it stops working… I havent looked into the preferences folder…
Hurray! Hawk’s Back in Business!
Yay, I can hold off till tomorrow. It’s good because now I have a Tuesday comic fix for the week.
Is Thursday’s likely to be pushed back as well due to the delay?
We’ll see.
Dont sweat it, some of us know how hard it can be to get stuff done with work and other stuff(school in my case) keep up the good work!
Just as a note - if you run into a problem with your Adobe apps crashing constantly, remove Version Cue! The rest of the suite runs fine, but my experience with the move to Intel seems to have been the same as many others: Photoshop and such run fine, but Version Cue likes to kill things.
I never install Version Cue, I know it’s a piece of crap.
Glad to hear (read) that everything is ok:) *sits out waiting for the comic*
Get a PC
:p
i have one of those, it tends to lock up, i would assume driver issues
PC? then whats the use of ‘applegeeks’ ?
I had a good laugh at all the armchair techs telling you what to try. Especially the “get a PC” ones. Helping my neighbor get her new PC up and running reminded me why I gave up PCs that I lived and breathed for 12 years to get a Mac. I hd Creative Suite installed and I was doing useful stuff faster than I got through her “Welcome to Windows” initial setup. Helping her has been an exercise in frustration. Long live Macs!
Glad to hear you found the problem.
About the problem with your scanner. If (when photoshop loads up) it gets to loading TWAIN menu and you get the error, follow doc 330344 off http://www.adobe.com. Just do a search for it. It’s directions on the MAC OS on how to pull out the TWAIN.plugin
Basicly, you can pull that out, and photoshop will run, but you won’t be able to scan directly into photoshop. Check with the Scanner Manufacture to see if they got a driver that’s photoshop compatable, then slip the plugin back in.
Hope that helps. This way you’ll be able to scan into a folder or something, then PS the documents.
Cute picture!
better to have a funtional rig to work with than to try to half-ass it… no worries on the delay, mate… i always look forward to seeing what you draw next!! :)
Understandable about the scanner bein a pain in the ass. I’ve had a scanner that I bummed off one of my friends and haven’t been able to get it working properly in the last 6 months that I’ve had it…then again I probably don’t care enough either
How is the new gear working, anyway? What’re the specs and how is photoshop running for you? I’m on the fence about getting a MacPro or a 24″ iMac…
I love you Hawk.
Oooooh… beautiful artwork and writing. The new AG gives me shivers.
