I used to have this problem with CS1 all the time on my G3. A reinstall was what it took to fix it. It got so bad that I started keeping a compressed copy of the Photoshop application around so that when it did happen I could just uncompress and swap the fresh app for the one that wasn't working. Didn't need to mess with anything besides the Photoshop app to fix it though.

I'm not fortunate enough to have a mac (or even a recent edition of Photoshop), but I do get this error all the time with PS6 on my PC. (And just try to find online help for PS6!) I've trashed my preferences, and that didn't do anything. It only seems to work after I turn my computer off for a minute or two, then reboot. (Just restarting for some reason doesn't seem to work.) Which is good -- just a pain -- because I can't find the CD to reinstall it.

I went to this page when I had the exact same issue on my MacBook Pro with CS...couldn't open a single file or anything. I never experienced the problem at home on my wired network, got it every time (for 2 months) I tried to use it at work on the wireless network. I shut down my Internet at work, and the problem completely went away as long as I was offline.

I even tried deleting my preference files and that did nothing. At some point, the problem just vanished...I can use it on my work network while I'm online. Don't know what happened...I hope Adobe has this stuff fixed for their '07 release!

"oh my god an error, god give me a sign what to do"

Get a PC

;)

I have no clue about macs, however is there enough space on your scratch discs?
Does this happen everytime you do this action?
You checked your harddrive for errors recently?
