I’m going to get some sleep and finish up Issue 304 tomorrow during my lunch break. The comic will be up by the end of tomorrow. In the mean time, here’s a peek from the comic.

Not sure why, but when I looked my first thought was, “Gina”
Hey, is that Gina?! Anyway, liking how your style continues to grow and develop Hawk!
-_- yeah, that is Gina. Idiot.
Hmm, get to see what Gina’s been up to. I see she hasn’t quit that smoking though.
i love it but i think it eve not gina or i can be wrong
Um, rigthegear, last I checked, Eve didn’t smoke. That’s definiatly Gina.
And so what if she hasn’t quit smoking. I think it’s good to see a non-villian smoking in a comic. There seems to be a stigma that only villians smoke in comics (or anti-heros). People need to get over that. A lot of good people smoke, it’s a fact of life. And it could be a lot worse, I mean, everyone has their vice; at least her’s is legal, she could be out shooting heroin (like that damnable Speedy or Arsenal…or whatever they’re calling him, now) or something.
Hawk, I love your comic. It is the greatest comic I have ever read. Your style, your writing (Props to you too, Ananth! World-class scripting, in my opinion.), and your effective use of suspense keeps me wanting more! Seriously! You guys need to put out a book, if you haven’t already. I’ve got a lot of friends who I have shown this comic, and they absolutely love it… Too bad they don’t read it much, because they all don’t use their computer too much…
Anyway, keep up the awesome work. It’s comics like these that make me aspire to become a great artist, or even a script-writer…
Devoted fan,
MetallicaPirate
For some reason, my first impression was that she was Ashley several years after her last appearance… though I suppose that’s sort of outlandish.
Hm…looks like her in a new job.
Maybe not. I could be wrong. I do not like to predict, though…they either usually end up right. Which spoils most things.
We can wait. Take your time, Hawk.
Very nice inking job, something odd abotu the porportions though
That looks so cool!! Anyway, I also create a webcomic series at http://www.dragonx.zoomshare.com.
My grasp of comic terms is vague but I think it is the inking I particularly like. I really like the style of that picture.
thx for those little previews of the comic everytime you can’t upload them in time, it makes the waiting easier ^^
a nice service
oh so pretty, hawk. i’m hoping to find out what happens with eve and comic-hawk real soon, otherwise i’ll have to hunt you and ananth down when i get to SPX.
Ooo, sexy.
I’ve finally figured out how you do your inking …. with the thicker outside lines and stuff..it makes your character stand out from the background…these black and white versions rawk. Absolutely a great source of information for people like me.
I believe you use copic pens right? Its probably something thats already has been asked.. But what kind of paper do you use? Or do you ink on your nifty tablet monitor ;)
Dude, I like that. I like that a lot.
Great image Hawk; her left arm’s pose seems a little awkward leaning on the wall like that; but I had to stare at it for a long time to notice it. Don’t sweat it though; the quality of every one of your comics is outstanding considering the speed at which you are forced to work due to the format. Maybe us artists are the only ones who notice these things, but what you do with this comic is nearly impossible to achieve for most people.
You have inspired me to buy a Wacom Cintiq 21UX (I hope you make more videos working with it!). I notice there is a lot of different places you can get them from linked on the Wacom site, any suggestions on which is the best vendor?
“Maybe us artists are the only ones who notice these things..”
Guess I’m not an artist.
That’s because you are passionate about what you do, sir. The idea of doing what you do without missing a day or two is daunting for me :D
Man, I just love your ink work. I luuv it. Later!
Whoo! I just want to thank you for spending the extra few minutes to upload a portion of the comic if it won’t be on schedule … really, I’m astonished you keep up the updates as constantly as you do, with your level of detail. This looks awesome, and I agree - good people smoke too! Gina wouldn’t be the same without her little vices. Beautiful.
I don’t think her arm looks arkward at all. As for the smoking, each of the characters have thier own vices. After all, if they were perfect people we probably would not be interested in reading, would we?
Examples:
Gina– smoking
Hawk– can’t stop making things in his… cave.
Eve– hates anything and everthing Windows related
Just little things that ender them to us. I really hope that Hawk and Eve aren’t dead (I doubt that they are, but comics have taken stranger twists and turns over the years…)!
Well, I didn’t mean to knock it down; Hawk is 1,000 times the artist I’ll ever be :)
I just think her arm (Covered by the post) looks a little too short and close to the forearm, I don’t know; it could just be the perspective.
Hope you feel better now Hawk! Awesome comic B&W still looks sweet!
I love this page; I can’t wait to see it colored, specially the background in the bottom panel where Gina is smoking! Great job as always :)
I’m with you there fdisk. But with the B&W version, it has a certain feel. Like a page ripped from a noir graphic novel. Maybe it’s just me that sees it that way *shrugs*
I’m definitely with you, there. The new style plus the black and white gives it that feel. And I’m lovin’ every second of it.
I could actually see either AG or AG Exodus (or both) as a large graphic novel. Would definitely be something i’d buy in a heartbeat.
I’m willing to bet that this is where they are headed. They’ll probably come out with a book after every new storyline; and I’ll be damned if I won’t be one of the first to pre-order it!
Hope you get over that headache Hawk. I know how those go all to well where I work. Nice job as usual on the comic. Can’t wait to see it in color.
wow hawk, i’m really impressed with your color-less sketch here. it has a really nice vibe. someday it might be neat for you and anath to do a story ark completely without color… but i’m sure you guys are planning that anyways hehe

Guess all good things’ve been said already. Pity, ’cause I’d have loved to be the first to say them…
The style is getting even better than it was, ‘restecp’!
As is the story which is really sucking me in by now… Can’t wait for the comming commics!
…an apple store? and who is talking…im guessing hawk…
lol i may be crazy but you should turn the above sampler pic into a poster
i think it would kick ass
This is my favourite of your comics. Ever. Every aspect is brilliant. I’m almost afraid to see the colour version… : )
Hawk, I know that you don’t do commissions but I would gladly pay a few hundred bucks for an enlarged version of Panel 5…. It is perfect and I am dead serious on both counts…
Pfeh.
I give a 8/10 on it. When the next part comes, maybe I’ll consider changing. But the first person storyline didn’t really come out well. But that is just my opinion.
I just wanted to say something amazing happened in the past few months with your art where you turned a corner and went from really good to amazingly professional/stunning (was it the magical power eminating from the diploma?). Plus, the fact that you can easily switch between the two styles of Exodus and AGLite speaks volumes. Keep up the awesometastic work.
For those commenting that Gina looks sort of like Eve..
Perhaps Gina is trying to look more like Eve. Since Hawk obviously was just a little attracted to Eve. =P It might be Gina’s attempt at helping to find Hawk or helping Hawk once she does find him.
I really need to go back and reread everything. It’s been such a long time since I have. Love the comic though.
