Hawk and I just got back from a business meeting that ran really late, so there’s going to be no comic up tonight. Hawk is telling me he’s going to try to get it done by tomorrow night, so it’ll most likely still be updated Thursday.

Threadless news: There’s a whole slew of new shirts over there, and a $10 sale that is going on till Monday! Pretty nice.

Also, I’ve started a modest blog over at my old domain. It’s going to contain updates about my writing, and probably about anything else I consider pertinent. I plan to possibly tackle some things that I avoid over here on Applegeeks, like politics and science. I’m setting myself the goal of updating at least once a day, so hopefully that will be of interest to people. The post over there outlines my personal writing goals in the long term. As for the format, I don’t plan to do anything crazy with it for the time being … I am going to be focusing on content over presentation.

Yeah, I’m still not done with it. This sculpture was sitting on my shelf for months. Luckily I’m using super sculpey, so it doesn’t harden until I bake it. Speaking of baking, does anybody know if I can use a regular oven or do I need a super duper 10000 degree oven to bake a sculpey sculpture.

Here is a nice article about a PC user switching over to a Mac.

Heads up … Threadless is having a $10 sale! There’s some new shirts, too.

Also, here’s a trailer for an interesting movie - it features Robin Williams playing a Jon Stewart-like character who ends up running for President - and winning. Should be good fun.

This terrifies me. What it amounts to is a lie detector in an airport … and it’s been well-covered that lie detectors are useless without heaps of corroborating data to support it.

Hot dogs may cause genetic mutations. I don’t think I need to say anything else …

Mookie (Dominic Deegan) asked if I could do a guest art for him. The idea was to do a “The Best of Dominic Deegan” art. This is what I came up with….

I kind of experimented with the art. It was hand inked and rendered grey scale with copic markers. Then I scanned it in and colored it in Photoshop. I thought it came out okay but a lot of Mookie’s fans wouldn’t agree. Oh well, as long as Mookie likes it, I’m happy.

It’s been a long, tumultous week, and all I seem to have to show for it is a headache. Some of you will be familiar with it … it’s that tightness behind the eyes that builds up after looking at screens for too long. I’ve also been sick for the majority of the week … my asthma also kicked in, so my respiratory bits are a bit uncomfortable at the moment.

This is mostly a post just to let you guys know I’m still kicking. More interesting things to come, I’m sure - I’ve been making some trips out with old friends, and I might post pictures for fun (and so I don’t have to type a lot).

Hawk is going to help me set up Wordpress at my personal site, so I’ll let you guys know when that goes up. It is purely going to be a writing blog … I am still toying with the format and content that will be presented, but hopefully it will be of interest to you guys.

I picked up Penny Arcade Vol 2: Epic Legends of the Magic Sword Kings last friday from a local comic book store. Just like their first book, it has creator commentary. However, this time it includes classic Penny Arcade news posts. And…oh yeah there’s more… a full-color gallery featuring the artwork from the Penny Arcade Card Game (the cards that I colored last year).

So I finally install WordPress on the Applegeeks server. I have been meaning to do this for a long time but since I have been running around because of conventions, I never got the chance to do it. So I sat down this weekend and installed WordPress. With the help of my brother, we were able to import all our old post into the new system. You can finally search through our old posts or leave a comment.

I still need to redesign the archive and individual templates to match the site. My brother is also working on getting the RSS feed to work correctly. A lot of you use the rss feed, so we need to find a way to switch you guys over to the new rss feed. I’m sure my brother will find a way, until then hang tight.
