The big 300 … I guess that means we’re doing something right?

Every once in a while we’ll get flak for what we’re doing … and in this case, I can’t necessarily argue. This story arc has taken a long time to finish … it was just bad luck that it coincided with our busiest time of year, con season. Post-con, there were a lot of things that came up that needed to be dealt with right away, so I can honestly say that my focus has been a little off. Hopefully that will change soon … I’ve been doing what I have to do to try to get back on track.

As far as what’s to come in Applegeeks … just have to wait and see. :)

Also! Some of you have noticed the ability to leave comments on our newsposts now, but I figured I’d point it out in case others of you were interested!

Why do you think its taking to long. As a comic reader for over 20 years.. i love the arc. Christ, Old X-men comics would take 15-20 issues to get an story line done.

Has our attention span as human’s decreased that much. A good story is what you have and i appricate it a lot. Its what i look forward to when i get in to work in the morning..

You two are awsome!!

Ahhh…but we all love the story so much! And speaking as someonw who’s held over 5 different comic arcs in her head for 3 years now without drawing a single panel because I just can’t do it–I think you are both amazing. ^_^

I know its usually the artist that gets more face time but you writing keeps many of us fans here as well. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Screw all those people who complain about the comic not being funny, or short and sweet. AG isn’t like your sunday paper…

AG is an appreciation of art and writing in a comic form. It’s an illustrated novella. Don’t let anyone ever tell you differently

I personally love this story arc. Anybody who can’t enjoy an awsome story really needs to be taken out back and shot.

I can’t believe that we as a people have no attention span…

Keep up the great work guys.

Congrats on the 300th issue, guys. I love seeing the growth and transition that’s occured over the years; the writing, the art, you and Hawk and the readers as well. This really is quite momentous and it makes me proud to call myself an AG reader.

Congrats on reaching such a pinnacle, and I’ve read applegeeks from the start and have loved how it has evolved. AG Lite was a great idea as well! It retained what perhaps readers thought was lost in the story arcs. Keep up the great work! Hawk and Ananth (Ananth and Hawk) you are a very talented duo and I look forward to every posting you two make.

Hi there, I just wanted to thank you guys for the time you put into AG. It’s my favorite comic and I read over 20 sometimes. I noticed how Hawk had 32 comments and you had only seven and felt bad because I think you’re both equally cool so this is just a note to say keep up the good work! And personally, I like the storyline better than random stuff. It shows more artistic ability and talent. It’s not as much of a challenge and a growth thing with random stuff. So thanks a lot!

Congratuations on 300. You guys both do great job!
P.S. Ananth? I miss your art work. How about tossing us an AG lite every once in a while. Just a thought.

I think the story arc is great! I’m really interested to see what happens next. Most people understand that you guys have real lives and are doing this for free and for our benefit and I just want to say…

THANK YOU FOR MAKING A GREAT COMIC!!!

Listen, AppleGeeks is still the funniest comic I have EVER read! Even if you guys have started a storyline that’s still really cool, I actually thought it was a change for the better because now it’s still funny and even has a cool storyline! Keep up the good work! :)

I think storylines are very important in making a good comic, unless the point of the comic to be storyline-less (of course, then you start talking about Seinfield, and yadda yadda yadda). The problem with storylines though, is it creates a “learning curve” so to speak to enter the comic. Megatokyo took me a very long time to get into because I had to go from comic 300 to 700 to understand the current charecters. Same thing with Something Positive, Six by Nine, and a large number of other comics. I think AppleGeeks has a good balance, because I didn’t feel I needed to go back to comic 10 to understand comic 290, but it felt as though comic 270 had relevance to the developments of 290.

Basically, whatever the two have you have been doing, keep doing it, its making me happy and I have respect for the talents both Hawk and Ananth display. I could never could do this as well as the two of you could, either for drawing, writing, plot, or style.(best I can do creatively)

By the way, I noticed Megatokyo 300 and Applegeeks 297 had some similarities.

I could take y

I love the story work you’ve been doing. Keep up the good work. I think that the reason some people have become impatient with it is because with one page updates, the standard for the webcomic medium, it doesn’t really lend a lot of “meat” or “bulk” (or whatever adjective you want to use). It’s good stuff, but it leaves a definite craving for more. Unfortunate, but irreperable.

Unless you guys get into the comic industry as a career maybe? Heh? Heh?

SWEET!!!

300…thats awesome…

keep up the work i love it…cant wait for the next one…one thing though…i think it would help new people if you had someone…or you…condense the stroy arc…not with comics…but at least some text so they get where it is going and dont have to read through 300… no matter how good they are…just a thought…

See now, I’m always complaining about story arcs, I complained about sluggy freelance enough to stop reading, i have no clue why I’m still reading gpf and I’m slightly worried about machall’s one strip story arc. AG, however, has done a real story arc that isn’t just the artist or author showboating their supposed talents, a real story is being told and the story keeps getting advanced. I’m also able to keep track of what’s going on (much as i love AZM, I’ve long since forgotten what the heck they’re fighting about or what the strip’s about in general).

In short this story arc rawks, keep it up.

I met you guys at Otakon but I wanted to say again that i love the comic and neither the pacing nor the delays due to having real lives bother me. As a manga fan, I have to wait something like four months between volumes of some series, so waiting a week for a new strip hardly seems terrible.

What Rose said earlier’s pretty true.

Over the years you guys have been doing this, everything’s evolved, not just the art. Your writing’s really taken a new direction from where it was back then. The pacing is wonderful. Love this new arc to death, moreso than the last arc where Eve goes crazy.

To all those who naysay: Seriously, why bother? Just sit down, shut up, and enjoy this masterpiece given to you by Hawk and Ananth.

AppleGeeks and MegaTokyo are the best comics i’ve ever read! I’m amazed that you can hold such a pace for posting comics with the amazing detail in the artwork, also the incredible story arcs and story line, they’ve blended so well that I would read just for the story, but with the amazing bonus of seeing everything that happens, great job and keep up the good work!
