So the mighty Google launched Writely, a free online word processor. It’s similar to Word, so you can type up your school report or blog into it. It saves the writing as a PDF or a RSS feed (wow cool). I’m sure it saves to other formats as well. Writely also has a collaborative editing feature, which allows multiple people to work on the same doc.
Right now the site doesn’t work in Safari, which I mainly use as a browser. My friend Josh tells me Safari doesn’t support a key javascript “thingy” that prevents WYSIWYG stuff from working.
What I find funny is that their redirect page doesn’t even work. I get an error message that says, “Safari can’t open the page. Too many redirects occurred trying to open ‘http://www.writely.com/?action=unsupported_browser’.”

Correction: Google bought writely, stopped new registrations for a few months, then relaunched as their own ;-)
Ah Ok. No wonder the name “Writely” doesn’t fit with “Google”. Thanks.
Safari users aren’t alone in this. Opera, my favored web browser, can’t open it either.
