Let me start off by saying I’m starting to understand what Fred and other webcomics are going through…and Fred told me this is just the beginning.
Who would thought something simple as Issue 87 would cause so much conversation, through email, irc, and the forum. Hell, I was giving myself a break and wasn’t even thinking about doing any fancy art like Issue 86. I thought a simple joke deserved a simple layout and art. I thought those who understood the joke would giggle and that would be it. I was wrong, instead I got non stop whining about how I drew Gina this time. Let me clear that up, not all comments were whining, a lot of readers did like the Gina art.
As I mentioned before, few peple pointed out Gina’s eye color being different in Issue 86 and Issue 87. I already admitted it was a mistake. I’m so use to coloring Jayce and Alice’s blue eyes (my character rarely shows his eyes), I wasn’t thinking when I was coloring Gina’s eyes in Issue 86. So there goes that.
Along with the comments about the eyes, I receieved commens about her breasts, about how they were a little too big and how one side was bigger than the other, etc. First off, she’s NOT real, she’s just a drawing on your screen. It’s not like her breasts will pop out of your monitor and slap you in the face. Gina is just a comic character that I’m still learning on how to draw. I’m not a perfect artist and never said I was. I didn’t go to any art school to learn how to draw the human body. Yes, all this time I have been teaching myself how to draw. Secondly, if you want to complain about the body, why not complain why sometime the character doesn’t have a nose, or why do they have big eyes as well. But you know what, I’m going to sorry anyways. I’m sorry if I offended anyone with Gina’s large uneven breasts. That is all.
