Starting AG a little late (for me) … prolly will be up late Sunday or on Monday at the worst. Been in a slump lately, dunno why.
The Hulk came out. Didn’t see it yet. Any good?

Uh, it’s done. Lot of dialogue, so it took a while to get it to fit. Even then, I dunno how easy it is to read … >_
…
Yes, the sock thieves. No, Hawk is not camping out under the Sphinx.
Anyway, if memory serves correctly, I’m doing one more AG, the last of the month, and then Hawk will be back with his mad art skills. ^_^ It will be nice to focus on writing again, for sure. Maybe then I’ll have time to get to work on a personal site.
Comic is coming along at a decent pace. It won’t be up until later tomorrow, I don’t think … I still have the last panel to do, which is gonna involve some of that digital painting I started teaching myself in the first Applegeeks this month (my first one), so it may or may not take a while. After that, I’ve got to put down the letters and bubbles, creds and all that. So, yeah … late tomorrow, I’m pretty sure. I’ve decided to put it down for tonight, anyway.
Apparently, and unbeknowst to even me, I am a big fat liar. I needed a break, so I started AG. I /did/ work on it. Whoo. The sketches are actually turning out kinda nice, but I’m sort of wondering if this will all fit on one page. ^_^;; It’ll have to, since we can’t post comics larger than the standard size.
So will the Hulk live up to expectations? Probably, since my expectations for it are brutally low. It just looks so … ehhh. I dunno. I’m gonna go see it with my Dad, of all people … he used to watch the old Hulk show back in the day, while he was in college, so it’ll be good times, I hope. ^_^
Oi oi, it’s me again. This is just real quick - sorry to those people who e-mailed me, I just now got to reply. I’m busy with summer classes - art history, so it’s all about memorizing those damned slides and their information.
Quiz on Friday, so I start AG Friday evening … there shouldn’t be any delay in posting it, though. ^_^;;
Okay, a few cursory things to get out of the way.
That comic status thing over to the left of the comic … I’ll do my best to use it and make it accurate, but I’m a dial-up kid, so most of my work on AG gets done offline. Apologies.
I wrote in earlier this week that I had screwed up the colors bigtime, and I had. I had already colored panel 3 when I decided to scrap the whole color job - in addition, I re-inked panel 3, because the inkjob was, in a word, crappy. The whole ordeal actually taught me a good lesson: don’t screw around when you’re doing something that you’re committed to, and that you enjoy. Er, the lesson goes a bit deeper than that, but … haha, that’s why it’s a lesson for me.
The subject matter of the comic … uhmm, it is supposed to be a little sobering. Call it an experiment - I sorta wanted to see the reaction I get to writing something out of the norm here at Applegeeks. Writing AG is of course a blast, but somewhat limiting in terms of content and the kinds of messages, mood, and content that I can convey. Call it trying to explore my horizons. If you guys really hate it and would rather see nothing but the funny, surely drop me a line and we can talk about it - as it is, I have some side projects I’m working on that are in a more serious tone. Anyway, I hope you like it.
Appearance-wise - I hope I managed to save it, anyway. Let me know what you think. ^_^
I’ll say this honestly right now - I can see how Hawk manages to put these together (for the most part) in a day - and I have to admire the concentration with which he works. I think I could probably create one of these in a day as well, but my attention tends to stray very easily.
Oh, I’d like to recommend a comic book to anyone who tends to stray away from superhero books - it’s a Vertigo title called The Last Man. It’s basically about … uh … something kills everything on the planet with a Y chromosome, except for this guy (the main character) and his monkey (not the main character). Yeah, yeah, it sounds wierd. It is. It’s also pretty good. There’s some scenes that will have rolling in the aisle, and some scenes that will hit you with a “Holy jeez”. For those of you who check this book out, credits go to Emily Adamo for lending it to me. The first collection can be found at your local comics store.
That’s all for me - I’m actually at Emily’s right now, and we’re about to go watch Cowboy Bebop. She hasn’t seen it before. ^_^ Take care, and lemme know what you think of the comic!
‘Til next time.
Rant is forthcoming. I have an important place I need to be right now, so I’ll post from there, I think.
